Family Filmmaking is a growing industry of artists who use music, audio, and video to piece together a story that preserves the love of families in a very visceral way. We believe nothing is more precious than time together. Many started as photographers and transferred their skills to filmmaking. We invite you to join our Peer Support group as we learn and grow together: https://imperfectjoy.com/family-filmmakers/.
How do I find a homeschooling curriculum? What is a coop? How do I report this to my school district? What is unschooling? Where do I get started when there is so much information on the web that I am totally overwhelmed?
Many of these questions are a weight for parents right now that are turning to homeschooling or online learning as a solution for school next year. This panel discussion includes three homeschooling moms that fall along the spectrum: curriculum-based online private school + curriculum and unschooling + strictly unschooling. Dani Whitestone, Shannon Miranda, and Kaitlin Servant share their experiences. This podcast is for anyone who is looking for basic information about how to get started, and touches on the challenges for work-from-home parents.

COVID has undoubtedly changed small businesses in a big way. Our family has had to embrace the word "pivot" even though hearing it sometimes makes me cringe. Throughout the winter months this year when I will not be able to take sessions for Imperfect Joy Photos and Films, I will be focusing on helping my husband get on his feet with his passion project - keeping people connected even when they are apart through virtual group fitness and nutrition coaching.

Are you having a hard time in quarantine getting away from the everyday monotony to focus on work, or even the regular tasks of bills and phone calls because everyone is home all the time and routines are completely upended? Jennifer Zwiebel's Implementation Labs are virtual meetings in which she helps people take their passions from a vision to reality. For some they dream of a successful business and for others they use the space as a way to take a step forward in life each and every day.

How do you define perfectionism? Melody shares stories from her life and business that explore how Brene Brown's definition has reshaped the way she sees this trait show up in her own life.
"Perfection is not about healthy achievement and growth. Perfectionism is not self-improvement or striving for excellence. Perfectionism is the belief that if we live perfect, look perfect, and act perfect, we can minimize or avoid the pain of blame, judgement, and shame. It's a shield.
I recently made the decision to change the name of my business after finding out there was newly pending trademark from another photographer. This was a name I had integrated into my entire brand. It made me pause and consider what my name truly meant. "Family Stories" was a descriptor of what I was doing but it did not embody what I was truly giving to families. This podcast is about how I took a step back from the chaos of deciding whether to pursue a legal battle or change my name and all of the branding. My art hasn't changed with the new name, but my perspective and how I talk about what I do most certainly has.
