In this episode, host Caroline Schafer chats with Spouse-ly service vendor Emily Lenning. Fifth-generation entrepreneur Emily owns two companies - Blossom Marketing and Rae and Company.
While working at Kellogg, she started her first company - Blossom Marketing. By 2020, she was ready to leap full-time. As a complete digital marketing agency, she was helping an e-commerce business and had always wanted to start her own. Being a military spouse, she knew she would have to use dropshipping. She worked with a graphic designer to create tumblers, iPhone cases, lunch bags, and journals, and Rae and Company was born!
Whether you need social media management, website design, branding, ads, or you want to order a gift, Emily has two businesses to take care of what you need.

Today, we honor those that have given all for us to continue to enjoy the freedoms of our great nation with a Memorial Day poem.
Memorial Day Poem
We watch from afar, yet stand by their side
Appearing so strong, while the tears shed inside
Their faces are firm with resolute stares
As the sound of taps hangs in the air
Unwavering hands fold the flag with respect
There's no room for error, it's always perfect
In a moment of honor, the flag is passed on
With a life that has ended, but never truly gone
Whether their life was taken during a courageous act
Or because they were so broken when they came back
Either way, they are gone and served with their heart
May they rest in peace, as their soul departs
The ones that served with them, now saying goodbye
Often struggle with feeling like they've been left behind
Guilt and pain that has nowhere to go
Leaving scars, words unspoken, and stories left untold
Today we honor those that we loved and revered
Who live on in our memories and are always near
May we share the legacies of who they were
For they were the brave and strong who served

Host Caroline Schafer chats with Spouse-ly service vendor Lindsay Hinger in this episode. She's a veteran and CEO & Founder of Gifting with Valor.
Lindsay had two gifting businesses. She originally started MilSO Box as a business-to-consumer transaction. However, she realized that the business model differed, and so, Gifting with Valor was born!
Lindsay loves helping others create and give meaningful gifts. When she realized that there are organizations that pursue military causes, they needed a way to honor and show gratitude to their stakeholders. She also realized that the gifts these organizations give are better received if they hold meaning to their recipients. So, she created a corporate gifting service with a patriotic twist.
Lindsay begins with a complimentary consultation. Then, the organization can share what they are looking for in their bulk order. That order will then be curated explicitly with veteran and milspouse owned products.
If your company is looking for a way to support veteran and military spouse-owned businesses while showing your clients and employees gratitude, contact Lindsay today!

In this episode, host Caroline Schafer chats with Spouse-ly service vendor Melissa Green. She's a veteran, military spouse, and CEO & Founder of Southern Sweet & Sassy Coffee & Rise Above Coffee.
As a veteran and a military spouse, Melissa loves the military community. However, she noticed a disconnect because of the many moves military families make. And she also saw that people connect over a good cup of coffee. So, thanks to the backing and support of military families, her idea formed a business to bring people together.
One thing that Melissa's company does each month is to find a non-profit to showcase and spotlight. This means that she takes the time to make sure the non-profit is vetted because they will be receiving a donation from the purchases that month. Plus, their business will be on the website and other monthly marketing.
Melissa has been a part of Bunker Labs, which has provided her access to their capital one office hours. This helped her create a marketing and communication campaign when she decided to put both coffee companies under one name - Bad Ass Coffee Causes. Unfortunately, this website isn't up and running just yet, but be watching for it! In the meantime, order her coffee today on Spouse-ly's website.

In this episode, host Caroline Schafer chats with Spouse-ly service vendor Chief Happiness Officer of Kids' Cake Boxes, Karen Hetz.
The idea for Kids' Cake Boxes came to Karen during the summer of 2020 when virtual get-togethers became the norm. After attending a child's virtual birthday party, the realization that the children could not celebrate together set off an idea to create a way for each child to celebrate together while still being virtual.
The pans are perfectly sized with all you need to make a 4-inch round cake. You just add eggs, butter, and milk. Each party host can order a cake kit for their guests. Each guest will have their own cake and can decorate it together as an activity.
Karen wanted to create an opportunity for quality time in the kitchen, which is the goal of Kid's Cake Boxes and celebrating childhood.

In this episode, host Caroline Schafer chats with Spouse-ly service vendor CEO & Founder of Magical Order of the Brave Knights, Colleen Marchi.
As a veteran military spouse, Colleen knows the struggles our military children go through. As a former school psychologist, she used her education and knowledge to create a way for children to receive a good night's sleep. Magical Order of the Brave Knights was born out of a need she experienced with her own son when her husband was away and her son was struggling with sleep.
The book comes with Sir William the Brave Knight, an adorable teddy bear, and a flashlight. "Every night children give up their worries and Sir William stays up to guard their room," Colleen says. "The flashlight has eight different images to help clear the room." This empowers the children to face their fears. This is a great way for children to have the freedom to express their fears and worries.
While the story was just a personal one, it became more when her spouse suggested she share it. She hadn't been an entrepreneur before, so she wasn't sure she could do it. Even though she discredited her ability at first, she finally decided she could do it.
A portion of every purchase goes to the Steven Siller Foundation. This foundation is dear to her heart.
