But as you progress in your language use, it’s more interesting, for you and any listener, to use more expressive words when speaking. Variety in your vocabulary is useful in two ways. First, when speaking with native speakers, they will appreciate your creativity! Secondly, being able to use a variety of vocabulary helps you better understand native speakers as well.
What do I mean by using interesting vocabulary? Well, for example, if you’re talking about a fast car, you might say that it drives quickly, or that it goes fast.
Of course, there are many other ways to describe speed. For example, one could say that the car moves "at a rapid pace" or "flies down the highway".
