This week on What We're Reading and Other Stuff, we tell you what we're reading -of course- and also, about some exciting news!  If you've ever wished that you could listen to us more often, this is your lucky day.  We have started a Patreon!

For those of you who don't know hat this means, Patreon is a website where you can go to support creators you love.  In this case, US!  How it works is that you go to www.patreon.com/bestbookclub and there you will be able to select one of three tiers of membership.  Our lowest tier starts at just $3 a month and that gets you early access to our episodes and also access to bonus episodes.  Our second tier is $5 a month and includes the bonus episodes and early access of the first tier but also gives you access to our quarterly member exclusive book club where you will actually get a say in the book we read! Our top tier is $10 a month and it gives you everything in the first two tiers as well as monthly live Ask Us Anythings or Bookish Movie watch parties and a newsletter made just for you, by us.   Thanks so much for all your support!

For book club this month we are reading Outlawed by Anna North!  So pick up a copy and read along with us!

It is time for our discussion of the short story The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Yesterday we released a recording of Shanna reading the entire story so go listen to that if you haven’t already!

The author Shanna couldn't remember was Lori Gottlieb. It is unclear where the quote actually originated, but it sounds like it was a tweet by @debihope. The actual quote is:

"Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self esteem, first make sure you are not, in fact, just surrounded by assholes."

Just a reminder that we are reading Carrie by Stephen King for book club, so pick up a copy and read along with us!!
