In this powerful, hard hitting message, Dr. Betters pulls no punches as he takes a part Proverbs 5 - 7 and reveals the downward spiral of adultery, from beginning to end. The scriptures hold nothing back in pulling back the curtain on this one sin that cuts the cord of a marriage. It is a must message for every man and woman who is tempted to betray their spouse. Dr. Betters also outlines fifteen steps that lead to the abyss of despair that is always the end result of adultery. Listen to this clarion call that will open your eyes to the dark side of a sin that the enemy dresses up as beautiful and enticing.
In Part 2 of Purity, Is It Even Possible? Dr. Betters unpacks Psalm 119:9-16, one of the most beautiful scriptures that invite us to experience true wisdom through soaking in God’s Word. We learn that this is where wisdom begins. For our children and ourselves to maintain moral purity, the most critical issue is the fact that there is nothing that can satisfy the inner longing of our souls short of that for which our souls were created … created in the image and likeness of God. In this message, we learn that Satan’s MO involves creating and then infecting a weak spot. This message focuses not only on the scriptural principle, but outlines practical examples of how the enemy tempts us to meet real needs with counterfeit means. Loneliness, the need for genuine intimacy, relationships, community - our culture has created a false means for filling these needs that soon lead to the opposite of what we were seeking

Take comfort from this strong exhortation to rest in God as you struggle in your own pathway. The writer of Psalm 116 is transparent about his own struggle to trust God when it seemed that all men were liars and sin reigned supreme. But he also seems to be saying, that in spite of what it looks like, I choose to believe and trust God in this dark world. The challenge is for us to do the same. In this message we learn that a thankful heart hinders a presumptuous spirit. Dr. Betters focuses our attention on Psalm 116:7a - Be at rest once more, O my soul in this continuing series from the Psalms, Building a Spiritual Legacy. The word “rest” is in the plural and speaks of the many kinds of rests we receive from a lifetime of trials when we face death’s door. Think of it, we need rest from terrors of the heart, from pangs of conscience, self-doubt, broken trusts, bodily pain and uncertainty. The list goes on and on. And yet, the Psalmist writes that it is time to be at rest. Why? Because the Lord has been good to him. This Psalm is a source of deep comfort as we consider the frailties of life and how to find “rest for our souls” in the middle of chaos and troubled days.
