Though it's truly difficult to understand when you're living under the weight of a trial...Jesus is close to those that are lowly and broken. He is there to comfort and come along side those who are hurting. Perhaps that's you today? As you listen today, allow the truth of God's Word to minister to you.

Experiencing the goodness of God in this existence only serves to wet the appetite for eternity. For those of us who have experienced the love and mercy of God...we long to be free from these sinful bodies of death and in the presence of God forever! This hope is what causes discouragement and depression to flee.

Think about your work week...on Monday you're already looking forward to Friday...you're looking forward to the restful time of the weekend. This simple picture helps us understand our hope for the return of Christ. We KNOW that it's going to happen and it may be soon! This anticipation helps us get through the work week of this life.

There is something that God can't do...He can't break the promises that He's made! And He has promised that He will work all things together for the good of those who love Him and are the called according to His purpose. Are you called? If so, God will carry you through whatever difficulty or trial you face and bring it about for your good.

Sadly, many of these trends could be stopped if only the leadership within the Body of Christ would simply teach God's Word from Genesis to Revelation.

The debauchery that's being portrayed as entertainment these days is startling! Pastor JD shares with us the current trend of religious reality TV shows where Christians are basically made to be the laughing stock of culture. We know that God has called and gifted men within His Body to pastor and teach through the Word of God in spite of this foolishness.

As long as you and I are in this existence, we will struggle with the desires of our flesh, the temptations of this world, and the deceitfulness of the enemy of our souls. But, we do have hope! There's coming a time when we will be completely restored and we will know even as we're known.

Condemnation and guilt are powerful tools in the hands of the enemy. He takes the condemnation of our past sins and twists the truth … feeding us the lie that there's something we must do to fix it...to make up for our it. Today we learn that there is NOTHING we can do to deal with our sin...we need the work of the Cross in our lives.

Like the lottery winner that boasts in his ability to pick the right numbers...so is the Christian who boasts in his righteousness! It's complete foolishness! In fact, any righteousness that we boast in is likely not righteousness at all! It's likely a work of the flesh that will not be redeemable when judgment day comes.

It's easy to become discouraged and depressed in this world. There's suffering and death all around us. And some of us have experienced loss that is hard to even comprehend. But, the glorious hope that we have is that we will be reunited with those that have gone on before us who've placed their faith is Jesus Christ.
