The order of Ephesians chapter two verse eight is vitally important...we're saved BY grace and THROUGH faith. Grace is the catalyst of the faith that births salvation. We cannot allow a legalistic heart to have a place in our lives and believe that our faith is the initiator of our relationship with God...it's not...it's God's grace.

The thief on the cross is one of the best examples we have in the entire Bible of God's grace. The thief on the cross didn't do any of the religious things that we sometimes think are necessary for salvation. He simply believed. He believed that the Person hanging their next to Him was the Son of God and there dying for his sins...that's all it took.

It's easy to slip into the thinking that you can add to your righteousness before God...that perhaps if you pray enough, tithe enough, or attend enough church services that God will love you more. Brothers and sisters...there is nothing that you can do to add to the righteousness that was accomplished on the cross.
