There are many who would like to claim the promises in God's Word but they haven't made God's Word a priority in their lives. God's Word is more like a cafeteria...'I'll take some of this, but I don't want any of that!' Is this how we're to approach God's Word? No! In order to receive protection from God, we must make His Word first and foremost in our lives.

In Spirit and Truth is a wonderful blessing that God uses to proclaim His Word. But, hearing God's Word CANNOT be the extent of your Christianity. In fact, in the book of James we learn that if we only hear God's Word, we'll be deceived. We're told that we must also be DOERS of the Word of God.

In today's message Pastor JD reminds us to anxiously await the return of our Savior. Just because Jesus hasn't come back for us yet...DOES NOT mean that He isn't going to return. And yet we know that the Word of God says that in the last days that there will be scoffers that will increasingly say this. Don't lose heart Christian, our redemption draws nigh.

The exhortation that we can take away from today's prophecy update is to consider how tightly you're holding to the things of this kingdom. Are you consumed with this world and all that it has to offer? Or are you waiting with great anticipation, being a wise steward until Jesus returns? Remember, we are called to simply wait for His return...not make our home here.

Though it's one of the single most difficult things to accept in this life...God does allow adversity in our lives. And many times it can seem like it's more than your can bear and that God has no purpose for it. But, as we'll hear from Pastor JD...you never know how God is using your trials...it may even be to bring a lost soul into God's Kingdom.

Have you ever been going through a particularly difficult time in your life only to have a well meaning brother or sister quote Romans eight twenty eight to you? While there intentions are good...this really doesn't help, does it? In this life, it can be a huge blessing to encounter those who have had the same trials and difficulties...because they truly understand how you feel.

Christian, pay careful attention to the testimony that Pastor JD shares in today's message. When you hear of a brother and sister that is going through a terrible struggle...be careful to not quickly assert yourself and your thoughts on the matter. For those that have experienced the type of tragedy's that Pastor JD's family has, knowing what it feels like, goes a long way.

In spite of what is being propagated by the media about the Muslim faith, it IS NOT a peaceful religion! How can I say this so emphatically? Well, today Pastor JD quotes from the Koran the commands of violence. Therefore, those of the Islamic faith who are heeding these commands are simply being obedient...those who are not are living in disobedience to the Koran.

In the book of Leviticus the Feasts of the LORD are detailed. And we know that all of these Feasts speak prophetically of our Savior, Jesus. So, it should come as no surprise that God would choose to use His Feasts to speak to us about the last days. There are some that believe that Jesus will return during the Feast of Trumpets...which Feast of Trumpets? ...this we can't say...but, this idea is certainly worth considering!
