In today's message Pastor JD challenges the notion that our emotions, our feelings, should govern our choices in this life. We'll learn today that, in fact, the exact opposite is true! Our emotions will deceive us! We need to allow the work of God's Spirit to have His place in our lives so that our emotions follow our Biblical actions.

In the book of second John verse six we read, 'This is love, that we walk according to His commandments.' You see as we become aware of how much God loves us, we won't be able to contain the desire to obey what His Word says...not to BE saved...but, because we ARE saved.

Though this Biblical truth contradicts everything we think, it remains true...real and lasting freedom comes from being a slave of Jesus. When we truly begin to believe and walk in this truth, our lives will be radically transformed for the glory of God. The Father will begin opening up doors for us to minister.

Religion will never save a person...righteousness before the Creator of the Universe will. And there's only one place to get yourself in right standing with the Creator and that is through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. This sacrifice is the only thing that will be accepted on behalf of fallen humanity.

The Feasts of the LORD that are detailed in the book of Leviticus chapter twenty three are amazing in their prophetic detail! Pastor JD shares with us the possibility of the our Savior's return happening at the Feast of Trumpets. Now, Pastor JD also will share that God is certainly not limited to that...but, the parallels seem to be more than coincidence.

You've probably seen on TV this group of people who have been labeled 'preppers'. They are preparing for the end of days by stock piling everything that they perceive that they will need. Today Pastor JD encourages us to certainly BE WISE regarding the days in which we live, but to also remember that our Father in Heaven can and will take care of us regardless of what may come.

Have you ever considered the Strong's definition for the word grace/charis? The meaning unmerited favor is certainly eluded to. But, the definition actually states...grace is the divine influence upon the heart as reflected in the life. So, you see God's grace is not only there for us WHEN we sin, it's also there for us to KEEP us from sin!

Sadly, Pastor JD's joke a moment ago is the theological doctrine of many churches. To think that God is some sort of genie in a bottle that we can command to do this and that is approaching blasphemy! The Creator of the Universe lovingly changes our hearts so that the things that we begin to desire are actually what He intends for our lives.

Pray for your enemies is one of the commands from Jesus that we would just like to forget at times! Our humanness creeps in and we slip into disdain rather than seeing that person through our Heavenly Father's eyes. Seek the LORD for a new heart towards those that you consider your enemies and begin praying for them to be blessed.

Pastor JD's statement a moment ago is very challenging! Stop and think about your own prayer life...who do you pray for the most? If you're honest, the answer will be quite obvious, yourself. This challenge from Pastor JD is one each of us should take to heart...begin seeking the Father for a prayer life that centered around others.
