The modern church has fallen into the trap of allowing experience to dictate what is true and what is false. The logic is that, if the end result is ok, then it MUST be from God. But, this is a faulty way of discerning God's will. God's Word should be the governing factor in determining God's will...if it's not in His Word, it's not His will.

Though it's a very difficult concept to accept, God loves everyone...even the most evil of our world. And it Paul's time we know that the Gentiles, the non-Jews, were considered to be nothing more than dogs. And God raised up the most eminent of Jews to declare that He loved the Gentile people as much as He loved the Jews.

Even though when in the midst of it, God can and does use our failures to further our growth and His purposes in our lives. It's easy to become discouraged when failure comes. But, we need to consider another approach. Why not ask God the next time you miss the mark, What am I supposed to learn from this?

Though it's difficult to accept, Pastor JD's point is certainly true. Adversity seems to be the best teacher when it comes to spiritual progress and growth. You're never so close to the Father as when you're right in the thick of the struggles and trials of this life. So, the next time you're in the middle of one...seek the LORD as to what His will is in it.

What the Bible calls sin...is sin. And what Pastor JD just shared with us is a powerful reminder. Cleansing from the terrible weight of sin only comes when we confess that the Word of God is true and that we have transgressed that standard. And then we must ask God to forgive us based upon the finished work of the Cross.

Just like the weight of a tractor trailer on a bridge meant for a regular car...the weight of sin will soon cause you to buckle. Perhaps you're listening today and you're carrying a past sin...something so dark, secret...you don't believe that God will forgive you.
