There is an enemy of our souls...Satan, the father of lies. And as we just heard from Pastor JD, our enemy is constantly seeking ways that he can get a foot hold in our lives in order to trip us up in our walk with God. We need to be ON GUARD, especially in our homes, for the attacks of the deceiver.

In spite of what you may have been told, there is a cost to walking with God. You should expect persecution. When you accept Jesus as your LORD and Savior, it's not going to be a 'bed of roses'. In fact, we know that our LORD promised us the exact opposite...Jesus said that we should expect persecution when we walk with Him.

The last time you were with us here on In Spirit and Truth we learned that suffering and persecution are guaranteed for those who are walking with God. Today Pastor JD asks us, 'How will you respond to suffering and persecution? Will it draw you closer to the LORD or will you choose to walk away?

Stop and ask yourself this question, 'When was the last time that I recognized a divine appointment from the LORD?' If it takes some time for you to answer that question then you most likely need to make some changes in your life. God is constantly providing opportunities for us to share the simple grace that He's extended to us.

Pastor JD shares with us today that there is a war taking place. It's happening all around us even though we can't see it. The enemy of our souls desires to destroy the Church and God's chosen people Israel. Our culture and the media is being used by the enemy to continually ostracize the Body of Christ and the nation of Israel.

Pastor JD's exhortation is one that we all need to consider. How much time are you spending in God's Word? And yes, programs like In Spirit and Truth are a wonderful blessing that God CAN and DOES use to bless His people. But, even this blessing should never be a substitute for the personal time that you need in God's Word.

The traditions of men are prolific these days. In fact, a careful study of many of our modern traditions reveals paganism at the root. So, what's our responsibility as Christians when it comes to the traditions of men? Jesus said that our traditions are OK as long as they don't cause us to break His commandments.

Seeking the praise and affirmation of men is something that many of us fall in to. As Pastor JD shares with us today, who doesn't want to be liked by others? We all do. But, we must be careful to not allow that desire to blur the lines of our motivation. If our heart's desire is to serve God and we receive encouragement from our friends, than that's OK. But, if receiving praise from men is our motivation, we're in trouble.

God is not a respecter of man nor does He regard certain ethnicity above others...that is in regards to eternity. We know that Israel is God's chosen people. But, still each Israelite must be born again. Unfortunately, in the first century church a double standard was being created for Jews and Gentiles that was NOT supported in God's Word.
