As summer draws to a close, we use the magic of memory to unlock our opinions on the latest cinematic and streaming content. James steps into the world of modern teenagers as he reviews the better than expected Cruel Summer and delights in the body horror of Netflix's Brand New Cherry Flavour. Dan recalls his time spent with Nine Perfect Strangers and discusses reinventing Val Kilmer's legacy with the critically acclaimed documentary Val.

Hitting the headlines this week is Frank Oz's damning comments on Disney and their unwillingness to work with him. Plus, Marvel's Eternals is being compared thematically to Nomadland, we discuss whether that’s a positive thing or not.

Dan uses the podcast for self-therapy this week as he discusses In Treatment and the complicated relationship he has with food courtesy of Channel 4's The Secret World of… Series. James shows us why on-screen nudity is far from the only reason to watch Netflix's The Naked Director Season 2 and touches on the grating yet watchable Shadow in The Cloud.

The damning effects that Paw Patrol is having on young children is one of the more surprising new stories that we strip apart this week.  We also draw attention to the latest Mike Flanagan joint hitting Netflix, Midnight Mass.

With a Hollywood blockbuster under our belt, we head off into Indie land as we review one of our most anticipated films of the summer, Zola. Will the tale of two strippers that took Twitter by storm finally reunite us in a similar opinion? It's a rhetorical question because you need to listen to the episode in order to find out...

The Olympics may be over but two podcast atheletes are still competing to discuss as much visual media as possible in less than 60 minutes.

There's some crossover in content this week as we both discuss the unexpected delight that is Hunter Hunter, coupled with the sheer banalness of Netflix's bizarre new dating show Sexy Beasts. Dan also fills his contractual obligation by watching another True Crime documentary, this time it's Sophie: A Murder in West Cork. Meanwhile, James narrowly avoids admitting that he watches Love Island by reviewing the shambolic reality show that airs straight after it, Apocalypse Wow. He also rips into Masters of the Universe: Revelation and "By the power of Grayskull" he is not happy!

In a plot twist to rival anything we've seen in the Marvel Universe, Scarlett Johannsson has taken a firm bite out of the hand that has fed her over the last decade as it emerges she is suing Studio juggernaut, Disney. We share the details and our unqualified opinions. 

It's a podcast milestone! Yes, after over a year, this week's main review marks the first time we have been to the cinema together (since the inception of this podcast). What a momentous occasion! Can M. Night Shyamalan's Old ensure it's a fitting reunion not to be forgotten? Or will we be left older yet non the wiser after the credits roll?

Dan makes podcast history by reviewing the nation's worst terrestrial TV channel's latest offering, Lie With Me, and also touches on Apple TV's new musical comedy Schmigadoon but will he be singing its praises?

Black Widow has dominated at the box office since its release so we dedicate 3 news stories to it this week. Since we're not on Kevin Feige's payroll we also tease non-Marvel related news of a potential Luther movie in the works.

With the country in the midst of a heatwave, we take full advantage of the sun by retreating indoors (for a minimum of 6 hours) to witness a bunch of high schoolers get stalked, stabbed, and sliced to death. In case you hadn't guessed it, Fear Street the Trilogy features as our main review.

We also look under the hood at the latest troubles causing Indiana Jones 5 and The Batman to stall. Maybe some franchises are best left in the showroom.

Putting things into reverse (while using mirrors and checking both sides), we re-evaluate 2001's The Fast and The Furious. Does the original model still have fuel in the tank or should it be thrown on the scrapheap?
