The ITC Book Club takes a pause for a poet’s perspective. I read and discuss selections from Alice Walker’s book “The World Will Follow Joy Turning Madness Into Flowers (New Poems).” Walker, a staunch humanitarian, anti-war/social justice/ecological activist, and prolific writer, became the first African-American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1983 for “The Color Purple.” Her work is illuminating and evocative of deep emotion: reverence for beauty, disdain for domination, and a call to action for liberation of all. We continue the In The Cab book club's review of "A Knock At Midnight: Inspiration from the Great Sermons of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr." This week's sermon is "Unfulfilled Dreams." Dr. King tackles the difficult subject of realizing that one's dreams may not necessarily come to fruition. He reassures us with a passage from I Kings: "...thine did well because it was in thine heart." It seems as if the reverend knew that he would not see the seeds he planted bear fruit, like many of us in our short lifetimes. He carries us with his words through harsh possibilities, while comforting us that it is enough that our work is done with grace, purpose and vision for the sake of goodness.
Little Queen Trash Mouth and I continue our conversation about PM Netanyahu's US tour. Rashida Talib's protests in the chamber as Netanyah addressed congress; his meeting with Kamala Harris; his meeting with Trump; VP Harris's statement to anti-Israel protestors; and our binary party voting system.
Little Queen Trash Mouth hosts Dream Queen on the Hatch Attach Hours. We discuss Elon Musk and Space X vs the National Labor Relations Board; PM Benjamin Netanyahu address to a joint session of congress this week; Kamala Harris's presidential endorsement; her statement on protest and antisemitism on the heels of her meeting with Netanyahu; the tamping down of dissent in the US; weaponized insects at the Watergate Hotel; and we find a way to have a few laughs at the expense of politicians and billionaires. Join us.
Hawt Diggity and Little Queen Trash Mouth join to talk about the news of the week. The International Court of Justice releases an Opinion on Israel's actions in Gaza; Elon Musk's (alleged) pledge of $45 million dollars per month to Trump (as of this recording, anyway...); the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) as a viable third party contender in the 2024 US presidential elections; who runs electoral debates and why are certain parties excluded; and so much more.
Dream Queen is Hawt Diggity's guest on Welcome To Heck. We talk about current happenings in Gaza, and read the statement released by US government employees who resigned in dissent of US policy in Gaza, Israel, and Palestine. A link to that letter can be found here:

Little Queen Trash Mouth and Hawt Diggity rejoin to discuss the headlines in another busy news cycle. We talk quite a bit about Agenda 47, Trump's plan for America, should he become the 47th president. This is quite startling, especially when held next to Project 2025. It contains gems like ending birthright citizenship, shutting down gender-affirming care for youth nationwide, and the construction of "Freedom Cities." There's a lot, and we try to take it on with a bit of spice and humor. Join us.
Dream Queen is Little Queen Trash Mouth's guest on The Hatch Attack Hours. We discuss the recent Supreme Court rulings that have made an impact on society this week: the Chevron deference, presidential immunity, and Grants Pass v. Johnson (the illegality of living unsheltered). We also uncover the influence of Leonard Leo in politics, namely supreme court judge picks over several administrations.
We also read and discuss Ijeoma Oluo's piece: "How We Get Through This." It has very useful tips on staying sane in trying times. It can be found on Substack here: https://ijeomaoluo.substack.com/p/how-we-get-through-this
Hawt Diggity and Little Queen Trash Mouth join me to talk about speaking freely as there are more crackdowns on dissenters, and how we each manage our First Amendment Rights. We also talk about the extreme Supreme Extreme Court rulings the week of July 1: the Chevron Deference, presidential immunity, the "homelessness ruling."
BREAKING NEWS: Dream Queen sits in on "Welcome to Heck" with Hawt Diggity. We have real-time reactions to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump as events unfold. Trump was speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, his last stop before the RNC opens this coming week. Shots were fired and Trump wounded. Elon Musk released a statement fully endorsing Trump in the immediate aftermath. We also take a look into campaign donations and the grand theatre of it all. These events happened as Hawt Diggity went live for her regular show. I popped in at the radio station to share the news as it happened.
