I'm guest host for Little Queen Trash Mouth's "The Hatch Attack Hours" on KMRD-LP (10a-12p MT Fridays). This segment is true to the show theme, as I discuss the harm caused by an oppressive capitalist/white supremacist culture on individuals and communities. I share a piece called "The Somatics of Capitalism: The Subtle Ways Capitalism Impacts Your Nervous System," by @pat.radical.therapist (Instagram). This piece is important because it breaks down some of the physical and mental dis-ease brought upon individuals by the "pressure to succeed within capitalist structures."
The unedited program with music, as aired live on KMRD-LP is available at https://www.mixcloud.com/DreamQueen3AM/
We continue our discussion of "A Knock At Midnight: Inspiration from the Great Sermons of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr." with sermon #3, “Loving Your Enemies.” Ickymac continues his tenure. We discuss Dr. King’s "practical hows" and "theoretical whys" one should love their enemy, as presented in the work. We also read from a letter to President Eisenhower, penned by Dr. King and the SNLC, pleading for the president to address American southerners and call for an end to the violence being inflicted upon Black citizens and communities by segregationists. All padded by witty banter between cohorts. It is not an easy journey, but one worth taking.
We continue our discussion of "A Knock At Midnight: Inspiration from the Great Sermons of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr." with the second sermon entitled "Paul's Letter to American Christians." Fellow KMRD DJ Ickymac joins me again in the studio. Today, we keep working on decolonizing Christianity, two main points being segregation and "the children of Ham," the justifications of slavery, and modern day capitalism. We will read from the chapter and contextualize the time at which Dr. King wrote and delivered it. Please join us.
We begin our discussion of "A Knock At Midnight: Inspiration from the Great Sermons of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr." with the first sermon of the collection entitled "Rediscovering Lost Values." Fellow KMRD DJ Ickymac joins me in the studio. In this special extended edition, we talk about decolonizing Christianity, Jesus needing a trigger warning, the efforts of the Great Reverend Dr. King, our personal experiences with religion, and read from the book. We also connect the book clubs's last read, "all about love: new visions" by bell hooks, to this particular sermon by Dr. King. Seekers discussing great thinkers. Please join us.

"In The Cab On The Road" is where we take the show on the road, collecting stories, photos and videos of everyday folks out in the world doing beautiful things. The mission is to bring us closer together, maybe even heal us up a bit.
Dream Queen is a seeker, who currently exists in a Black-American, non-gender-conforming meat suit. I believe our vulnerability in sharing wisdom across cultures can help bring us together, and elevate all life and this planet.
