  • Episode 116: A Promise-Keeping God

This episode takes us on a journey through the Old Testament (and some of the New Testament) as we discuss the many, many ways that God fulfills His promises. Specifically, we look at the biggest promise He ever made - the gift of His son, Jesus - and discuss the many actions God took to ensure that His promise was fulfilled. Some of these actions were more overt (see the Parting of the Red Sea). Others were more "behind the scenes" (see the book of Ruth). We talk about all of these today and focus on God's sovereignty and hand over all of history to fulfill the greatest promise ever made.

In this episode, we continue to talk about themes from Samson's early life and see how those themes carry over to the final parts of his life. • Episode 112: Samson...Hero, but Human (Part 1)

As we wrap up our brief series on the Book of Judges, we turn now to Samson, the final "major" judge in the book. Most people know the story of Samson, but perhaps not all know his entire story. With that in mind, we start talking about this intriguing figure this week as we discuss Samson's parents and early life. This episode introduces to Samson, teaching us some lessons and some interesting facts and themes from Old Testament Israel.

  • Episode 111: Giddy(on)-Up!

We're back this week with the second episode in our brief series on the Book of Judges. This week, we discuss the next major judge whose story is told in this book as we tackle the history of Gideon. Gideon is an interesting character in the Bible, and is a bit of a mixed bag in his actions and qualities, but overall provides us with a great lesson in humanity and God's sovereignty and grace. All in all, Gideon's story is definitely unique and challenging.

We also read about Deborah, one of the "major judges" that delivered Israel from disaster. Deborah's story brings us plenty of courage, action, and intrigue, all of which we discuss in this episode.

  • Episode 107: The Stumbling Block Principle

This episode brings us back to a chapter of the Bible we have talked about once before: Romans 13 (see Episode 10!). As we read that chapter, as well as Romans 14, we cover some key Biblical instructions for Christians living our lives in this world. From submitting to authority to the "stumbling block" concept, this episode has no shortage of Biblical lessons. And from history's revolutions to Shrek, it also has no shortage of applicable analogies. Hop into the fire and join us for another great episode!
