In The Loop

In The Loop turns its attention toward the Texans’ upcoming matchup with the Indianapolis Colts and asks what Houston should fear the most. Jonathan Taylor has been a problem for the Texans in the past, so history might say he’s the obvious answer. But is there something else about this Colts team that should concern Houston even more? The guys discuss the biggest threat facing the Texans as they try to get their first win of the season. Then Figgy’s Mixtape takes over with the “Lego Bandit” leading police on a high-speed chase in Florida, DaBaby selling $45 waffles, and more wild stories.

Figgy’s Mixtape gets wild with the Lego Bandit leading police on a high-speed chase in Florida, DaBaby charging $45 for waffles, and more.

The guys step into the confession booth and get a few things off their chest during another edition of Lunch-Time Confessions.

ITL puts the guys through some difficult choices. Yordan winning the Triple Crown or the Astros making the playoffs? Nick Caley calling plays all season or bad special teams all season? The guys answer those and more.

The Rockets want to lower Kevin Durant’s workload, but KD doesn’t see the need for it just for the sake of playing fewer minutes. ITL debates whether Houston should protect its veteran star from himself or let Durant play the minutes he believes he can handle.

ITL goes around the league with the biggest NFL stories, including the Giants losing Jaxson Dart for the remainder of the season after his knee injury.

What’s the one thing you start doing for a few minutes and suddenly realize you’ve lost an hour — or more? ITL asks listeners about the rabbit holes that completely destroy their sense of time.

Former NFL player Chris Long had plenty to say about what he saw from Nick Caley and the Texans offense. ITL reacts to his criticism and asks whether Long is seeing the same issues everyone else is seeing in Houston.

There have been plenty of theories about the Texans defense through two games. ITL sorts through the conjecture and asks what’s actually having the biggest impact on a unit that was expected to be one of Houston’s strengths.

In The Loop opens the show looking back at DeMeco Ryans’ Monday press conference and wondering whether the Texans head coach may have revealed the team’s real problem without directly answering the question, before debating whether an ineffective rushing attack is enough reason for Houston to abandon the run altogether. The hour wraps with the Question of the Day: What’s an excuse that works every time? ITL then goes Around The NFL before turning to the Astros and asking whether one final players-only meeting can provide enough of a spark to save their season, followed by What’s Popping in the world of sports. Later, the guys examine whether DeMeco has already shown a lack of confidence in his offense and, with the big expectations surrounding this Texans team, whether anything short of a drastic move can restore that confidence. That’s followed by Lunch-Time Confessions and College Football on a Tuesday. The show wraps by asking what we can absolutely depend on from the Texans after two weeks, whether it’s something on offense or defense. Then Figgy’s Mixtape takes over with the bizarre story of Cornell students butchering a black bear in a dorm kitchen, 12 people accused of stealing more than $100,000 worth of chicken, and more.
