How many times have you heard "I can not believe (he/she) said that!" or "What a stupid comment!"? South Carolina and parts of North Carolina have been severely damaged or utterly destroyed  from the nearby vist of Hurricane Joaquin. Several local, county officials (including Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone) and State officials along with field media will be joining us as we take an in depth look at what happened, what is going on now and what to expect in the future as the State(s).

Over the weekend the State of South Carolina got pounded by what is now being called "A thousand year rain." Hundreds of roads and highways are closed. Some roads and bridges no longer exist. Cars parked on streets are totally submerged while others are now luxury housing for fish and crabs. ALERT: MORE ON THE WAY!

The battle to become Speaker of the House is about to hit the boiling point as we now have a threesome looking at the powerful position. Just like the race for the GOP Presidential Nomination this battle will be grueling and nasty; yet again showing what the GOP is made of these days.

President Obama is once again taking a terrible incident to promote his stance against the Constitution of the United States. Once again I am caught questioning, at the same time supporting, gun ownership rights. With over 45,000 schools failing across the country why is it such a suprise to find that our children are not receiving the education they need to insure  they and this country have a chance for a prosperous future? We hear about "Teaching toward testing", "No one will get failing grades", "Students in the 8th grade read at a 3rd grade level." and other scary comments about today's educational process. I can say I have heard all of the comments. I have also heard and witnessed new concepts in teaching/learning that blows my mind. Today's program begins with a recorded presentation (September 29th) from a group making application for a new and unique school hopefully coming to Florence. The Board/Committe hoping to begin the school, Virtus Academy (Virtus is latin for "in pursuit of excellence) will be presenting their application to the  South Carolina Charer School DIstrict on October 1, 2015. Their pursuit of excellence will hopefully be obtained with an approval for the new FREE charter school in November.If approval is obtained Virtus Academy will open in for the 2016-17 school year.
