What does it really mean to not love the world?

Good Friday is behind us; Easter Sunday is coming. But what about the time in-between?

From understanding your full forgiveness in Christ, to actively fighting sin with the Word, to walking in deep intimacy with the Father...this is the journey we’re all invited into.

As John continues in 1 John 2:9–11, he makes something very clear: you can’t walk in the light while holding onto hate.

As we continue through 1 John 2:7–8, we’re reminded that the call to love isn’t new — but through Jesus, it’s been fully revealed.

In this episode, we reflect on how love was once understood in part, but now has a face in the person of Christ. As we sit in Holy Week, we look at the weight behind Jesus’ words in John 13 and what it truly means to love as He loved. This isn’t passive, surface-level love. As John continues in 1 John 2:1–2, he writes with both deep love and clear conviction — like a father urging his children to grow up in their faith.

In this episode, we unpack the call to spiritual maturity, the danger of misusing grace, and the truth that confession is not meant to keep us stuck in cycles of sin. John highlights that while the goal is to live free from sin, we are not left without hope when we fall...we have an Advocate in Jesus, the Righteous One!

These verses call us to pursue holiness as children of light, but also reminds us we are fully covered, forgiven, and defended by Christ. When we truly grasp the depth of His forgiveness, it transforms the way we live — and the way we love others.

In 1 John 1:8–10, we’re reminded of a foundational truth: we all fall short...but we are never beyond the grace of God.

In this episode, we talk about what it really means to confess our sins and why it’s not about earning God’s acceptance, but restoring intimacy with Him. While the world may either minimize sin or be crushed by it, Scripture calls us to live in truth — honest about our condition, yet confident in God’s faithfulness to forgive and cleanse us through Christ.

Confession isn’t meant to trap us in guilt, but to free us. It’s an invitation to stop hiding, come into agreement with God, and experience the fullness of relationship He desires with us.

In 1 John 1:5–7, John lays out a bold and foundational truth: God is light, and there is no darkness in Him at all.
