In the Water: KG Ministry Podcast

Your testimony has power. And the story of what Jesus Christ has done in your life could change someone else's life forever.

Too many Christians believe they don't have a testimony worth sharing. Maybe they didn't come out of addiction. Maybe they weren't delivered from a dramatic past. Maybe they've followed Jesus for most of their lives.

But here's the truth: If Jesus Christ has changed your life, you have a testimony worth telling.

In this episode of the Discipleship Series, Kayla and Elwood discuss the incredible power of sharing what God has done in our lives, why the enemy wants believers to remain silent, and how our personal testimonies can point others toward Jesus Christ.

Revelation 12:11 (KJV)

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

Our testimonies aren't about glorifying our past, drawing attention to ourselves, or proving how far we've come.

They're about glorifying Jesus Christ and declaring what HE has done.

Is Halloween really harmless fun, or is there something much darker behind this holiday? Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

Every October, millions of people celebrate Halloween with costumes, candy, haunted houses, and traditions that have been passed down for generations. But how many people actually know where Halloween came from?

And more importantly, what does the Bible say about it?

In this episode of the Discipleship Series, Kayla and Elwood take a deep dive into the history of Halloween, tracing its connections to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, the establishment of All Saints' Day and All Hallows' Eve, and the development of the traditions we recognize today.

But this isn't just a history lesson.

We're examining these traditions through the Word of God, asking difficult questions about witchcraft, spiritual darkness, religious traditions, and what it truly means to follow Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:11 (KJV)

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

Deuteronomy 18:10–12 makes God's position on witchcraft, divination, and consulting the dead unmistakably clear.

While Halloween's history includes several different cultural and religious influences, followers of Jesus must examine their participation in any tradition through the truth of Scripture.

The question isn't simply whether something is popular, accepted, or something we've always done.

The question is: Does it honor Jesus Christ?

We're not called to follow the world. We're called to follow Jesus.

Romans 12:2 (KJV)

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

We encourage you to open your Bible, examine the Scriptures for yourself, and seek the Lord in everything you do.

Don't follow tradition blindly. Follow Jesus Christ.

Demons are talked about everywhere—but how much of what we believe about them actually comes from the Bible?

Movies, culture, tradition, fear, and even churches have created countless ideas about demons and spiritual warfare. But as followers of Jesus, our understanding shouldn't come from Hollywood, stories, or speculation. It should come from Scripture.

In this episode of the Discipleship Series, Kayla and Elwood take a biblical look at the truth about demons—what they are, what they do, how they operate, and most importantly, the authority and victory believers have through Jesus Christ.

Demons are real. Spiritual warfare is real. But Christians are not called to live obsessed with darkness or terrified of the enemy.

Jesus Christ is greater.

Jesus taught us to love God—but He also taught us to fear God.

So what does the Bible actually mean when it tells us to fear the Lord? Is it simply respect? Are Christians supposed to be afraid of God? And if we are saved by grace, why does the fear of God still matter?

In this episode of the Discipleship Series, Kayla and Elwood dig into what Scripture says about the fear of the Lord and why it should affect the way every follower of Jesus lives.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” — Proverbs 9:10

The fear of God isn't about running away from Him. It's recognizing who He is—holy, righteous, all-knowing, all-powerful and worthy of our complete reverence and obedience.

We should never become so familiar with God that we forget WHO HE IS.

Fear God.

Obey Him.

Love Him.

Honor Him.

And live like He is truly LORD.

“Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.” — Ecclesiastes 12:13

Dying to Self DAILY | Deny Yourself, Take Up Your Cross & Follow Jesus

Jesus didn’t say to deny yourself once. He said to take up your cross DAILY and follow Him.

In this episode of the Discipleship Series, Kayla and Elwood talk about what it truly means to die to yourself and surrender your life to Jesus Christ.

Following Jesus isn’t simply adding Him to the life you already wanted. It means laying down your own will, crucifying the desires of the flesh, and choosing to follow where He leads—even when your flesh wants something different.

Jesus said:

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” — Luke 9:23

That word DAILY matters.

Yesterday’s surrender doesn’t replace today’s obedience. Every day we have a choice: Will our flesh lead us, or will we surrender again and follow Jesus?

In this episode, we talk about:

• What it actually means to deny yourself

• Why the flesh and Spirit are at war

• What Jesus meant by “take up your cross”

• Why dying to self must happen DAILY

• Crucifying the desires of the flesh

• Obeying God when you don’t feel like it

• What we may still be unwilling to surrender

• Jesus’ example: “Not my will, but Yours be done”

• What dying to yourself looks like in everyday life

The question isn’t simply, “Do I believe in Jesus?”

The question is:

Have I surrendered my life to Him?

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” — Galatians 5:24

Deny yourself.

Take up your cross.

DAILY.

And follow Him.

God has been writing a story here in Kentucky that we never could have planned.

In this episode of In the Water Podcast, Kayla and Elwood sit down to talk about everything that has been happening at our new Kentucky home base — from purchasing the farm and preparing the property, to opening the gates for our very first revival on the land.

What started as a vision became a place where people could gather, hear the Gospel, repent, be baptized, and encounter Jesus. And when the first revival finally arrived, we watched God move in ways only He could have orchestrated.

Kayla and Elwood share the story behind the farm, what it took to get ready, what happened during those first two days, and some of the moments that we'll never forget.

This isn't just a piece of property.

It's a place set apart for what God wants to do next.

Welcome to the Kentucky Revival Farm.

In this episode of the Discipleship Series, Kayla Gabbard and Pastor Elwood dive into IDENTITY and what it truly means to find your identity in Jesus Christ.

The world constantly tries to give us labels. Our past tries to define us. Other people’s opinions can shape how we see ourselves. Even the enemy will try to make us question what God has already declared over our lives.

We see this clearly with Jesus. At His baptism, the Father declared, “This is my Son, whom I love…” (Matthew 3:17). Then, almost immediately, Satan challenged that identity: “If you are the Son of God…” (Matthew 4:3).

The enemy still uses the same tactic today.

2 Corinthians 5:17:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Stop introducing yourself by what Jesus died to free you from.

You are not your worst day.

You are not your failure.

You are not your rejection.

You are not what someone said about you.

You are not your past.

If you are in Christ, you are a NEW CREATION.

Open the Word. Find out what God says about you. And start walking in the identity He has given you.

In this powerful episode of the Discipleship Series, Kayla Gabbard and Pastor Elwood confront one of the enemy’s most subtle and destructive weapons — the spirit of offense.

Offense feels justified. It feels righteous. But if it’s not dealt with, it turns into bitterness, division, pride, and spiritual stagnation. Many believers don’t fall because of obvious sin — they fall because they refuse to let go of hurt.

Offense will come. Jesus said it would.

But it does not have to control you.

If you’re carrying hurt, resentment, or bitterness — this episode is for you.

Freedom is found in humility, forgiveness, and obedience.

What began as a simple act of obedience turned into a calling.

From baptism assistant to becoming our main EMS on site at revivals across the country, John shares how God redeemed his story, strengthened his faith, and placed him exactly where he was needed.

This episode is a powerful reminder that God can take any past and turn it into purpose.
