  • Episode 29: ERod and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad May
Eduardo Rodriguez had a real tough month of May. Like, REAL tough. Let's talk about that, and let's talk about ERod in general this year.
Has he really been that bad on the mound? Eh, not exactly. Is it just bad luck? Maybe! Is it both? Well aren't you nosy, huh?!
ALSO: I went on another podcast! It's called Small State Big Takes! It's awesome! We talked about MVP Baseball 2005 on there! Here's a link to their Twitter with all their info! twitter.com/SmallStateTakes
This week's hat tip went to the best person I know. It was a big weekend, so this prestigious honor was an easy choice to make.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "Something Like Olivia" by John Mayer. Here's a clip from Family Guy about John Mayer that I think of often when I listen to him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC5AhS5Mc6U

  • Episode 28: New Era Baby Whatcha Doin'?!?!
New Era made thirty (30) baffling decisions when it came to their new line of MLB hats. Just thirty (30) awful calls.
Y'know who else made some awful calls? Tony La Russa. Thank goodness for Alex Cora being in Boston.
Also, the presumptive Comeback Player of the Year out of Baltimore gets a shoutout.
Tell me what your least favorite part of the new New Era hats are on Twitter, @FitzyMoPena.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "Green Light" by Lorde. She's almost back, folks!

  • Episode 27: Bobby D Loves His Dad Rock
I went to Fenway this past weekend, and I learned that Bobby Dalbec is a dad trapped in a young slugger’s body, especially when it comes to his musical taste.
We’ll take a dive into Nick Pivetta’s hot start to 2021 in this episode. Spoiler alert: giving up home runs is less than ideal if you’re a pitcher.
Home runs are great if you’re one particular hitter in Houston who’s been on my mind, however!
Do YOU like when your favorite hitters hit home runs? Do you ALSO like it when your favorite pitchers DON’T give up home runs? Well, then let’s be pals on Twitter! Hit my line, @FitzyMoPena.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is “Touch of Grey” by the Grateful Dead, in honor of Bobby D.

  • Episode 26: To Buy or Not To Buy
After a solid week of Red Sox baseball, let's address what the trade deadline this summer might look like.
Also: a hat tip to Drew Robinson with the Giants organization.
CONTENT WARNING: This episode features a discussion involving self harm and suicide. There's a warning said aloud in the audio, and there's also a pause in between where those topics are mentioned.
More resources can be found here if you need any help: https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
My DMs on Twitter (@FitzyMoPena) are also open, if you ever want to talk. We're in this together, and we're all we've got. It's OK not to be OK.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is, of course, "Higher Power" by Coldplay. Because, what else was it gonna be this week?!

  • Episode 25: The Third 54 Theory
Folks,,,,,,what are YOU wearin' to the ballpark this summer?!?! Hope it ain't gym shorts and a t-shirt!
The Red Sox had a bad weekend in Texas, and some of those losses were a part of the "Third 54," but let's all take a deeeeeeeeeep breath.
Also, a shoutout to an AL West outfielder.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by The Beach Boys. Brian Wilson is a genius.

  • Episode 24: Stop Bullying Aaron Boone Challenge 2K21
Aaron Boone is being bullied!!!! And we can't stand for this bullying in baseball!!!!!!
The Red Sox had an alright week, but there are always things to work on.
Some extra inning rule proposals are dumb. Others.....mayyyybe there's something there.
That and more on this week's episode!
Yell at me about how dumb I am on Twitter, @FitzyMoPena.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" by the legend himself, Stevie Wonder. What a song, man.

  • Episode 23: Imagine John Sterling Saying "Duck Duck Go" Out Loud
The Jordan Episode of this particular podcast features:
--Talk about a good baseball team (The Boston Red Sox, specifically their thorough lineup and great pitching performances)
--Talk about a bad baseball team (The New York Yankees, specifically their radio broadcaster saying a ridiculous website name out loud)
--A great story out of Atlanta
    --More!!!!
Tweet at me to tell me how bad my John Sterling impression, one that I and I alone find funny, is as it hits your ear drums: @FitzyMoPena.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "What You Know" by Two Door Cinema Club.

  • Episode 21: Steak, Baby
The 2021 Boston Red Sox season began on Monday, and nothing happened the three days beforehand. If something were to have hypothetically happened, though--say an 0-3 start--I perhaps talked about it at length during this episode.
The baseball was (again, hypothetically) bad before it was (literally and tangibly) good on Monday!
Also: the Red Sox got new uniforms, a hat tip to a lefty slugger in the AL West, and fuckin' steak, baby. Monday steak. Fuck.
Tell me how much you love steak, baby, on Twitter: @FitzyMoPena.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "It's a Shame" by The Spinners.

  • Episode 20: The Spin Zone
Hey :) guess what :) real life, actual, regular season baseball games are being played this week :)
Before we watch 162+ games of ball bat, though, you've gotta hear about three (3) Red Sox pitchers who could be pivotal to the outcome of the 2021 season in Boston. Healthy amount of spin rate talk in there, hence the episode's title and hence the closing song.
2021 MLB predictions are also in this episode, so that means you get to yell about how wrong they are!
You can specifically channel your anger to @FitzyMoPena on Twitter.
Opening song is "Baseball" by Hippo Campus, closing song is "Spinning" by No Rome, featuring Charli XCX and The 1975. Song of the year nominee already if you ask @FitzyMoPena on Twitter.
