Books used to be hand written and copied. They were too valuable to be written about or read by average people. So they were about kings, queens and conquerors.
Now, books are inexpensive, and we all have dozens of them. Now, they are less about kings and queens and more about folks like ourselves.
Times have changed, but have we changed?

I frequently say, “The more sure you are that you’re right, the more likely you are to be wrong.”
Once you are convinced that you and your friends are right, everything you hear after that becomes confirmation bias. Whatever you hear that fits with what you believe is seen as truth. Whatever you hear that contradicts what you believe, is seen as lies. Much of the worst that has happened to mankind was caused by people who were sure they were right.
