IGL Podcast welcomes two new hosts to the show! Justin introduces AJ Demers and Kyle Duncan Graham via a tour of their respective gaming histories. And it is a storied walk down memory land, including titles like: My Little Pony (aka AJ's dad's favorite game), various Sega games, Toejam and Earl, Double Dragon, Aladdin, and others.

We devote a lot of time on IGL to VR - mainly because host, Justin, is really, really into it. But, also because the implications for it are compelling and the technology is finally in a place to offer a fully immersive experience for gaming, drawing, shooting zombies, sitting on the moon, assembling simple machines on a tiny planet, plus all the weird things Japanese developers are working on right now.

It's with this love in our hearts that we strap on our headsets for the whole month of September. IGL players will be offering all VR gameplays and reviews, special guests and surprises.

The gaming news is hotter than the east coast right now as we endure these dog days until Fall finally arrives. New gaming systems Xbox One and PS4 are rolling out new, state of the art graphics and game engines in their new titles or innovating slimmer/improved machines, meanwhile Nintendo and Sega are taking advantage of a healthy public appetite for nostalgia and releasing retro gaming systems compatible with HD televisions. Not to mention the VR world is quietly and quickly developing in accessibility, technology, and game offerings. And Wii is another conversation entirely.

In this week's episode of IGL Podcast, we preview titles from Xbox One, PS4, PS VR, and Wii, such as Recore, Mafia 3, Dishonored, Titanfall 2, Destiny Expansion, Battlefield, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Niantic, the app developer responsible for what could be the most popular mobile game of all time, is cracking down on services that give players an edge in "catching them all." Pokémon GO involves squiring your phone all around our real, physical world in order to find and enslave virtual monsters via smartphones. A weak spot in the game that helped players locate these targets had provided an opening for entrepreneurs to create apps able to pinpoint where Pokémon would appear and for how long.

Niantic also began blocking third-party access to its servers, which these apps/sites utilized to harvest the data needed to provide these services.

IGL host, Justin, and special guest, Michael from The Writers' Room, played through a mission to LA VR Expo and gained much XP to share with listeners. The expo is still a fairly new event but has grown exponentially since its first iteration, a small, subreddit meet-up. Now a mere two years later, the expo lives at the Los Angeles Convention Center and boasts 6000 + attendees with programming spanning two days.

The lines were long - a good sign for the rising popularity of VR and the event, but less good for those waiting in the queue. We had the most fun trying out the newest experiences that will soon be coming to consumers, such as VR Skydiving, VR Zoom - Horseback riding and bicycling, NASA - Mars VR, and even VR/AR Tattoos. We also checked out the Vive Port, which is the HTC Vive download center for new games and videos.

Infinite Grenade Launcher players return to days of past future for more Retro Gaming. This time find themselves teleported to a mysterious island (before LOST made it mainstream) and find many mysteries await them in Myst.

Myst is a puzzle adventure game designed by brothers Rand and Robyn Miller for their company Cyan and was published by Brøderbund in 1993 for (the leviathan) Apple Macintosh home computers. It was one of the first CD-ROM's, which may not sound exciting but was pretty cool back then as did the (then revolutionary) pre-rendered 3D graphics, which looked amazing on the PC screen.

The VR Expo is coming to LA, August 5th and 6th and IGL is preparing to be immersed in the latest and greatest VR innovations. This technology is only growing in popularity and refinement and hosts, Justin and Tim, are witness to its rise.

VRLA is the largest virtual/augmented reality expo in the world, and is attended by both consumers and industry professionals. This year, we're looking forward to cutting-edge demos of projects in development for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, PlayStation VR, Google Cardboard, Samsung GearVR, and an ever increasing list of platforms. The two day convention features tech presentations, panels, and exciting announcements from the VR world.
