Perianal disease is essentially a disease of tissue surrounding the anus. It comprises a cluster of diseases that greatly affect quality of life. Common symptoms include anal pain, bleeding, discharge, and pruritus (itching). Inflammatory and vascular anorectal disorders discussed here include hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal abscesses, perianal fistulas, proctitis, and anal itching.
