Brianne and Violet take a dump together!

It's a minidumps episode! In this episode, Brianne talks about an urban legend born from a Sephora review, about a lotion that ALLEGEDLY makes spiders horny. Violet talks about the history of wifi, and how it was kind of invented by three different people. Brianne talks about ASMR, but NOT in an ASMR inducing voice. Violet talks about data recovery, and how trying to get your information off of a hard drive is a lot like banishing a demon.

Violet takes a dump!

Violet talks about Ape Escape- the late 90's Playstation game that kicked ass, but was killed as a series by capitalist greed and too many spin-offs. She discusses them renaming and casting new voice actors for each region, an ape version of Solid Snake, and how Ape Escape informed the video game controllers we all use today. Also- Try to turn off the part of your brain that knows the difference between monkeys and apes for this episode. We're so sorry. Playstation didn't care about distinguishing between primates.

Brianne takes a dump!

Did a guy ever come to your school, tear a phone book in half, and then tell you to not do drugs? Brianne takes a dump about The Power Team- an anti-gang, anti-drug, anti-bullying, anti-premarital sex, and undercover group of evangelical strong dudes. They're like Street Sharks- if Street Sharks had conservative values and twisted the Bible to uphold the societal power structures that benefited them personally. (Making them only aesthetically like Street Sharks)

CW: We talk about evangelical christianity and fundameltalism. If you're an exvangelical who isn't in a place to hear about this stuff, just skip this one! We won't be mad.

Our guest Brent takes a dump!

Has a piece of media ever changed your worldview? Were you ever drawn in to said piece of media, by your healthy curiosity for a nice set of boobs that seem to change size at random? Of course you have. Even though we've all been there, come listen to our friend Brent dump about One Piece, and how his curiosity over the changing boobs on some Nami action figures ended up changing his worldview in his late 30's.

Brianne takes a solo dump!

In this episode, Brianne talks about the occupational therapy tool called a "sensory diet". Brianne is not an occupational therapist, nor does she play one on TV- but she's an autistic peer support specialist who crafted her own sensory diet, to help with self regulation and meltdowns. A sensory diet is a highly customized plan, filled with positive sensory input, that can help a person's nervous system better handle the things they encounter every day.

Topics discussed include
- The concept and purpose of a sensory diet
- Who might find incorporating this tool helpful
- The 8 senses, and activities that provide that type of sensory input.
- Proactive Sensory Diet: Brianne walks you through hers she does daily
- Reactive Sensory Diet: Brianne walks you through hers

Violet takes a dump!

Violet isn't a "hey mamas" car lesbian, but she does like cute li'l things (like Brianne) and stickers. Learn about Tamiya Mini 4WD Racing - the Japanese, tiny car racing hobby. Violet discusses first learning about Tamiya cars through the video game Yakuza. She discusses how the IRL teeny cars inspired Mario Kart, and Brianne plans to craft the tiniest truck nuts in the world.

Brianne takes a dump! (inspired by an actual dump)

Listen to the harrowing story of a woman who forgot her phone, and was resigned to reading bottles in the bathroom, like it's 1998. Brianne is sent down a rabbit hole, trying to figure out wtf is up with the labels on Dr. Bronner's products.  She finds an unexpectedly touching story about neurodivergence, family, and attempting to do the most good, while being forced to live under capitalism.

Guest Dump! with Sean Turner

Sometimes terrible people make great art. Sean takes us back to France in the 1800's, where the world's most successful incel, Hector Berlioz, writes one of the most groundbreaking symphonies of the Romantic Era. It's like a proto-concept album- written by a guy who won't stop harassing you on Hinge.

Two Girls, One Dump!

We're trying a new type of episode! Brianne and Violet BOTH dump this episode, sharing topics that are interesting- but not enough content for a full episode of the show.

In this episode- Brianne talks about weird things that are determined by genetics, like whether or not you get smelly asparagus piss, how stinky your BO is, and what type of ear wax you have. (Sorry she's a nasty ass)

Violet talks about the origin of color photography, and how for a long time, we used to just paint the GD things.

Next, Brianne talks about Neopets' connection to Scientology and Veronica Mars.

Finally, we end the episode with Violet telling us about Roller Coaster Tycoon, and how it was made by ONE DUDE. (Who also cured Violet's fear of roller coasters.)

Brianne takes a dump!

We're getting deuterocanonical! Come take a sip of this nutritious Septuagint!

Brianne talks about The Book of Judith, and the history of Judith's representation in visual art. We talk about the dudes who seemed to want to paint her butt-ass nekkid, and we talk about Artemisia Gentileschi  - the icon who turned Judith into a symbol of female rage. We talk about a more modern take by Kehinde Wiley, which takes the story in a different direction. Listen to Brianne try to explain visual art in an audio medium! She tried her best!
