In a week that marked the first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, CBU appointed a new advisor on "decolonizing the academy". Dr. Marie Battiste has come home to take on the new role, as Special Advisor to the Vice President Academic and to Unama’ki College.

People in Judique were invited to a unique fundraising event on Friday. "The Great Judique Potato Lift!" was a chance for community members to buy some spuds, with the proceeds going to a school in Zambia.

You could call it an... INN-ovative idea. The Judique Historical Society has plans to raise revenue for the organization by turning the museum into an Airbnb. Rose Poirier is a volunteer with the Society, and was the President when the Airbnb project was started.

High-tech help for drug users? An overdose prevention site is expected to open soon in Sydney and organizers are hoping it will include a high-tech biometric vending machine that dispenses opioids. Reporter Tom Ayers spoke to Giulia DiGiorgio of the Ally Centre of Cape Breton, and Sara Wuite, a health prevention officer with Nova Scotia Health.
