Happy International Women's Day! On today's episode, I'm joined by my close friend, Kenzie Coombe, to dive deep into negative self-talk and how that reflects on body image and self-worth. We discuss disordered eating, confidence, learning to love (or in some moments, accept) our appearance. We chat about the influence social media and external validation has during the process of shifting your mindset from a place of negativity to body image neutrality AND positivity. As humans, we regularly commit to work, our families, our friends, and our partners, but some times, the most difficult commitment we make is to ourselves - to love and honour who we are unconditionally. We share some of the things that have worked for us; and some ways we challenge intrusive negative thoughts. This episode is a reminder about all the important things your body does; and the role your mind & brain play, in the game of body acceptance. It is a reminder that you never fully know what someone is dealing with, no matter their size. It is also a reminder that you aren't alone if you are struggling with separating your self-worth from your appearance, and becoming confident in your own skin, and who you are.
