  • Saint Elouise
Tonight live in studio it’s Saint Elouise! Well really it’s Christina Berg songwriter and singer for St. Elouise. I think this is the first just piano vocal solo performance on Ink and it was a lot of fun to do. In tonight’s episode we chat about writing processes, making your live shows more of an experience and memorable, and the vulnerability in putting a lot of one’s self into one’s lyrics. Without further digital ramblings: Episode 18 with St. Elouise!

  • Phil Wilmont with Solidarity Uganda
So, I tend to just do music BUT, with my label/recording studio “Wondertone Records” I have been recording Phil’s full length “soon to have a name.”  before he moves to Uganda with his wife. He’s also doing some crazy awesome stuff in Uganda, saving lives perhaps and. Phil works with Solidarity Uganda, an organization built “To empower communities with alternative transformational educational experiences useful for cultivating holistic peace and justice throughout Uganda.” Their main goal is a certain village in Uganda that is currently the subject of a land grab. Phil’s is working with some amazing people, including his wife, and they are doing some wonderful in the world. You can help out as well by helping fund Solidarity Uganda’s documentary “Our Feet are Rooted” Please take a listen and check out Solidarity Uganda and their work abroad.

  • Alex Brubaker
A percussive finger-style guitar player is in our midst today. Alex Brubaker is in multiple ways unique to the local music scene. Not only is his guitar playing style non-conventional, as in using the guitar for percussion, he uses his pedal board in such away that it blows my mind at the hand and feet coordination going on here. In this episode, and it is a little longer, he plays four songs for us and explains a lot about his technique, writing in this genre, and the really really long time he’s been taking on getting us his next record. This episode was so much fun watching him play and getting a little more in tune with this genre of music. Check out the links below and really, see him live, it’s a amazing. Enjoy!

  • Canyon
Yes, Connecticut, but Lancaster has adopted her regardless so she’s on the show. By the way, this was a semi-inpromtu show since I was lucky enough to catch her on an off day from recording, but more on that in the show. Canyon is in town for the LAUNCH music festival this weekend, and I caught up with her last month before we both played at the Community Room on King one fine Saturday evening. This was such a fun episode to do; she played amazingly, we talked about the recording process and the highs and lows therein, as well as writing songs that may or may not have a solid meaning behind it. So please, enjoy the show with Canyon.
You can find her playing this weekend at LAUNCH via the links below. Thanks for listening!

  • The Pig Merchants
This week on Episode 14: The Pig Merchants! On this episode we delve into some heavy subjects, emotions behind writing music, and the obscurity of which pogs (remember those things?) fell into. “Pog’s?” you ask? Well listen and find out why we ever decided to talk about those things. The Pig Merchants are here sans-band and play wonderfully for you all out there. I hope you enjoy today’s webisode and check them out!
I want to personally say, I am just loving their album “On We Go” so, buy it, because I said so, and its wonderful.

  • Pet Parade
Episode 13! Luckily, it was great. Pet Parade is live in studio all the way up from Washington D.C., which is an insane drive, so kudos! On this episode we chat about their upcoming E.P. & their latest release, “The Big Bend”, as well as recording in a cabin whilst saving a sheep farm from coyotes. How? Well listen and find out! There’s a lot of goodness in this show, it’s a little shorter, but I think you’ll find it dense and gooey all they way through. (gooey?) Enjoy!

  • Matt Wheeler
Matt Wheeler was in the studio playing his new E.P. “Indigo” from front to back live for us. I think this E.P. sounds amazing and the solo versions in the show are great too! On this episode we talk about his literary influences, his many, many releases, and a bonus song called “Lexington”. This is just a fun episode and we had a wonderful time. Enjoy inklings!

lushfarm is live in studio! No, that’s not a grammar error, lushfarm is all lowercase, no spaces, just FYI. We had an awesome time! We speak of a great many things, TV shows, bad bands, and a little music in there too. This is our first milestone episode! It’s episode 10! With lushfarm!
