In this episode, AJ and Brandon continue on with the theological virtues, now moving on to the virtue of Faith. Between the difficulty with defining the word, to understanding its relationship with the other two virtues of Hope and Love, and even how do we encourage the development of Faith in the next generation.
This week, AJ is joined by a long time friend and brother, Mike Ubaldini. Mike has battled a lot of darkness and struggles born out perfectionism and confusing failing for being a failure, but has kept working his way towards improvement. He has so much incredible wisdom to share, we know you'll want to find him at the RFP podcast, Ultra Dads podcast, and on all social media @MUbal4.
AJ and Brandon dive in on the question of legalizing marijuana in Arizona. It's actually a tough question for the guys, since marijuana is in some ways similar to alcohol, but also very different. How do you enforce marijuana laws? What impact would legal weed have on kids? These questions and others dominate the conversation.
Alright folks, I hope you are ready for this one, because AJ is straight gospel preaching here today. Discipleship is at the core of our Christian experience. I'd even say it's at a more basic level of our human experience. Christian discipleship is a cycle of being called, sitting at the feet of the master, being sent out. We go through this cycle many times in our life and it is part of our growth, part of the process of sanctification.
This week, we continue talking about hope, specifically AJ gets some of his gripes with the gospel of prosperity. Our hopes shouldn't be limited to this world, or else we'll be closing ourselves off to the greatest gifts that God has in store for us.
On this Highlights episode, AJ is joined by Robby from Christ, Culture, and Coffee podcast. Robby shares his faith journey and the importance of community in building a foundation strong enough for the attacks the world throws at it. Make sure to check out Robby on the Christ, Culture, and Coffee Podcast!
Why do so many Christians feel the need to attach their hope to politicians or parties? We need to remind ourselves that our primary identity and loyalty lay with Christ, and we need to try and educate the children in our lives that, while politics certainly matter, placing our hope in any human or human institution is a sure path to disappointment.
On this week's Highlight, Justin from BlueShoesFitness.com talks to AJ about his path to working in personal fitness. There is so much to unpack from him, whether we're talking about resilience, fitness, balancing work and family, or directing everything to building up the Kingdom of God. If you are looking to get in shape and want a brother and coach to help you get there, make sure you check him out on www.blueshoesfitness.com
In the Gospel of John, we're told that we are supposed to hate our life in this world. How do we reconcile that with love of neighbor and gratitude for the gift of creation? How do we teach the children in our lives to be grateful for things without being too attached to the things themselves?
