Join us as we revisit one of our most captivating episodes from Season 1 of The Bureau of Queer Art podcast, available on all platforms. Dive into OMNI VANITAS, an extraordinary showcase by the art duo ORT Project. Anna Noelle Rockwell and Oona Nelson push the boundaries of contemporary art, transforming the dining table into a stage for lush, painterly tableaux that challenge the very ideas of consumption, abundance, and decay.

In October 2021, under our previous name PRPG.mx, we hosted an insightful exhibition titled "Perspectivas Humanas." This show featured seven artists across six spaces, exploring the human form, perceptions, experiences, and storytelling methods. These narratives aimed to comfort, remind, educate, and unite us as humans, emphasizing our shared experiences and the diversity of voices in the art world. Visitors, referred to as "the experimenters," were invited to navigate the gallery spaces and engage deeply with the art, challenging their views on discourse, culture, and the pivotal moments in history.

One of the standout contributors was Ximena Alarcón, whose provocative sculptures highlighted the limitations and lack of reciprocity in intimacy within a male-dominated world. By adopting a feminist perspective, Alarcón encouraged viewers to re-evaluate their own viewpoints—sometimes drawing them into voyeurism, at other times into a metaphorical blindness, and often challenging them with deceptive stereotypes. Her works, featuring a mix of reflective surfaces and wood, were designed to provoke self-assessment and facilitate conversations on entrenched societal beliefs.

Now known as Art Gallery Studios, we are revisiting this impactful exhibition through a special feature on our podcast. As a bonus episode, we present an interview with Ximena Alarcón, exploring her feminist approach and the themes that resonate throughout her body of work, including gender, social inequalities, racism, and empathy. This insightful discussion is available on your favorite podcast platform.
