I looked at my calendar tonight and there wasn’t one white square left in it. Someone asked me for a favor and I said “of course” before they finished the sentence, because yes is easy and no is a whole conversation. In today’s entry, I admit that being busy isn’t always ambition. Sometimes it’s avoidance in a nicer outfit, and a life that’s completely full has no room left for the thing I actually want.

Last Christmas my mom gave me a scale. I didn’t believe the number, so I bought a second one. It said the same thing. Nearly fifty pounds over four years, and I had been living in whatever stretched so I wouldn’t have to look. That was a year ago. I know what to do, and I still start and stop. In today’s entry, I sit with the gap between seeing the truth and actually responding to it, and why awareness without action is just another way of settling.

Ten years ago, I had a vision for a podcast network built on fictional storytelling, the kind of work that scared me because it actually mattered. So I waited. More experience, more certainty, not yet. When everyone else started podcasting, I started something smaller and safer instead, then watched it fade because my heart was never in it. In today’s entry, I trace how fear rarely says “don’t.” It says “try something smaller first,” and then uses that small failure as proof you were never ready for the real thing.

She felt the no rise up, solid and clear, and handed over a yes anyway.
In today’s entry, a woman who’s always been the reliable one begins to question what she’s been calling kindness. A friend’s comment about treating closeness like a transaction forces her to see how much she’s been overpaying in time, energy, and patience to keep a seat at tables that were never going to feed her, and how much of her giving has really been the fear of being alone.

I used to be a baby photographer. I was there for the sacred, the very first photo a family ever took of their child. Then one situation at a hospital pushed me out, and I told myself a call center job was temporary. That was seven years ago. In today's entry, I trace how survival work becomes your whole identity when you are not paying attention, and how shame quietly erases the best of who you are.
Today's inscription: What have you erased from your story because you were too embarrassed by where you are now? What gift have you buried simply because you were too tired to let it breathe?

The transmission gave out, so I took the bus. I told myself it was temporary. That was the word I kept using. In today's entry, I trace how a string of reasonable, practical choices quietly built a life I stopped questioning, and how easy it is to mistake survival for stability.
Today's inscription: What "temporary" situation has become a permanent part of your identity? Name the pattern you've been calling "practical" that is actually keeping you small.

Almost can feel reasonable. Almost can feel safe. But what happens when you give a relationship, a dream, or yourself only partial effort? Day Two explores near-effort, people pleasing, and the quiet cost of accepting something that was never really enough.

Sometimes you're not unhappy. You're just not fulfilled. Nothing is falling apart, but something inside keeps whispering, this isn't it.
That feeling has a name. Settling. For thirty days, InscribedRite: Unsettled sits with it honestly, in the small moments, the unfinished conversations, the dreams we called unrealistic instead of unfinished. Thirty days of stories and questions about the lives we're living and the lives we're capable of choosing. Some stories are drawn from real experience, some are imagined, but the feelings? You may recognize those. Every entry ends with one question for your own page.
The series begins September 22nd. Follow now so Day One finds you the moment it drops.
