Inside Indiana Sports Breakfast with Kent Sterling

Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, and Anthony Richardson - digging through their lives like Dr. Louis Leakey excavating an ancient city is not going to help Chris Ballard figure out which quarterback is the right fit.

Ballard needs to lose the public arrogance. He's a likable guy - why make it harder to like him?

Indiana Basketball is in an unprecedented logjam from second place to ninth place. Hoosiers need win Sunday, and a little help to get some extra days off prior to their first game in the Big 10 Tourney!

Bryce Young might be the guy the Colts are targeting, but if they trade up to get him, they better be deeply in love! Don't sleep on Anthony Richardson though - or CJ Stroud for that matter!

Ballard needs to stop showing his prickly side to the media, but Shane Steichen earned points yesterday by actually answering questions!

Big 10 basketball is insane right now! If Illinois beats Michigan tonight, there will be a huge log jam tied for second place at 11-8!

David Benner lived a good life and made Indy media better while helping fans learn more about the Pacers.

Ballard delivered vague but relevant information regarding the Colts search for a franchise quarterback. It's not about size, but obsession, accuracy, and athleticism!

Shane Steichen rolled through a barrage of questions in record time. He is succinct at a level that would confound the significantly more verbose Frank Reich and Chuck Pagano.

Colts have reportedly hired Tony Sporano Jr. as the new o-line coach and Cam Turner as the new QB coach. Sporano comes from the Giants and Turner from the Cardinals.

Jalen Carter has gone back to Athens, Georgia, where he will be served two arrest warrants for reckless driving and racing. Carter is thought to be the most talented player in the draft, but the arrest on misdemeanor charges may hurt his draft stock.

Shane Steichen and Reggie Wayne must be on the same page - as Reggie will return to the Colts for another season as wide receiver coach. Chris Ballard and Steichen will speak to the media this afternoon at the NFL Combine!

Hoosiers crapped out last night for 40 minutes against the very mediocre (on the road) Iowa Hawkeyes - until last night when they played like the 1996 Chicago Bulls!

Pacers get a nice road win in Dallas despite Luka Doncic dropping 39 on their heads!

Colts need a quarterback, but not so badly to give up #4 and #35 in this Draft and the first and second rounders in '24. Ballard needs to walk away from bad deals, and not try to outbid the Raiders and Commanders - two franchises renown for bad deals.

Ballard and Steichen will talk to the media tomorrow - don't expect keen insight about the possibility of trading up or back.

Hoosiers have a shot tonight to put some distance between themselves and Iowa - among other teams - and Trayce Jackson-Davis is going to have to be the guy to get it done. Big 10 is too tight to lose a game at home against a mediocre team.

Chris Ballard and the Colts will decide this week at the NFL Combine who they will not take in the Draft. Bryce Young might be the last name without a line through it!

Ballard needs to stop worrying about what the media and fans think, and go with his gut. Quarterbacks are for winning football games, not rescuing the planet!

Carson Wentz released by the Commanders - which is not a shock!

Indiana hosts Iowa tonight in a game they need to win - and should win! Trayce Jackson-Davis must play like an All-American!

Fran McCaffery is fun to beat, but that is only part of the joy of IU winning tomorrow night! Hoosiers better make sure they are dead before celebrating! Jalen Hood-Schifino will be a first round pick in the NBA Draft. His 35 points were huge in the win over Purdue.

The NFL Combine is underway, but workouts don't start until Thursday. Colts will be doing a deep dig on all prospects, not just quarterbacks like Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud they might covet early!

Hoosiers women lose at Iowa on a Caitlin Clark buzzer beating three-pointer!

Spring training debacles with the pitch clock - expected, but stupid!

Frank Reich wasn't all that was wrong with the  @colts  offense, but he was part of it - as was the Quarterback position, receivers, and o-line. And all of it is clear in one very telling statistic!

Indiana is at Purdue tomorrow night, and before getting excited about the game - let's be real about the chances of IU completing the season sweep tomorrow at Mackey!

Victor Wembanyama might be the prize awaiting the loser of the Pacers @ Magic tilt tomorrow night!

Bobby Okereke stays at the right price, but most free agents will be allowed to walk! Matt Ryan, Ryan Kelly and Kenny Moore may be goners too!

Indiana Basketball travels to West Lafayette for their greatest test of the season! History of the rivalry is long, and the Hoosiers lead the series in the modern era!

Myles Turner explodes for an almost perfect night, but it was not enough as the Pacers lose in OT!
