We kick off the new year right with a look at some of our most popular features of 2012. We get started with Brantley Gilbert at a number one party for his summertime hit "You Don't Know Her Like I Do."
As we conclude our special best-of Inside Music Row episode - we look back at when we caught up with Marty Raybon, T. Graham Brown, Jimmy Fortune, and more to hear how they are "Working On A Buildin."
Welcome back to our year-end special, where we are taking a look back at some of our most popular segmnets of 2012. This next duo wasn't even on the national radar last year at this time, but after performing on Gary Allan's Country Throwdown Tour, Florida Georiga Line has been signed to Republic Nashville and is now one of the hottest tickets in town. We had a chance to check them out on the set of their very first music video for "Cruise."
Jerrod Niemann isn't a writer or artist that is made from the typical country mold today. He has a distincitive sound and style that some say is quite refreshing, taking an older country sound and making it fresh again. We had a chance to chat with Jerrod at a release party for his latest project and see what he's doing to "Free The Music."
We kick off this very special best-of edition of Inside Music Row with our coverage of Carrie Underwood at her "Good Girl" number one party in Nashville. The song was co-written with Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley.
The guys in Livewire have reason to celebrate this holdiay season with the recent release of "Livin." They first came onto the national scene as a finalist in the 2009 Colgate Country Countdown, and released a self-titled EP in June of last year. With the new "Livin" project, we've seen how much they've grown together as a group, and Kelly Lynn caught up with them to hear all about their new music.
The Christmas holiday is one that countless people around the world are able to enjoy, but for many children living in poverty, it's not so special. The Christmas For Kids program was created to help bring a little holiday cheer to children all over Nashville, and Charlie Daniels has jumped in with his full support. We headed over to the Ryman Auditorium for his eleventh annual show to raise money for the organization.
Tracy Lawrence is doing everything he can to help feed those in need this holiday season. He created his "Mission Possible" program to collect turkeys and fry them up at the Nashville Rescue Mission to provide a special meal for the homeless. We had a chance to catch up with Tracy and check out the impressive lineup of frying stations downtown.
We kick off another Inside Music Row with the mention of Kenny Chesney as he is gearing up for another excitingyear of touring. Look for his "No Shoes Nation" tour to kick off March 16th. George Jones is also in the news as he is retiring from touring in about a year - his final farewell is scheduled for November 22nd right here in Nashville. Katie Armiger is up next as she is set to release her fourth studio album - "Fall Into Me" hits stores January 15th and includes her current single "Better In A Black Dress." Also in the news is Thompson Square as they are taking their hit song "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not" and creating a book of the same name - look for the book to be released early next summer. Finally, we go Inside The Song with Chris Destefano to hear about a number one song he co-wrote with Carrie Underwood and Ashley Gorley called "Good Girl."
Lisa Matassa's first entry into the music business came in the dance genre, where she recorded two Top-Ten dance singles before she was twenty years old. However she eventually realized that country music was her calling, and she gave herself to it heart and soul. Her new E.P. "Somebody's Baby" was released earlier this month, and includes a few of her own songs, plus a few popular covers. We had a chance to check in with Lisa to hear all about that new music.
