Help Haiti Live was a

benefit concert at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium, and assembled by

Compassion International. 

Compassion International is a Christian non-profit ministry dedicated to

helping children in poverty, and this event was geared toward helping victims

of the January 12th earthquake near Port-au-Prince.  Many artists signed on quickly,

including Big Kenny Alphin, who did double duty as the evening’s host. If you’d

to Compassion International’s Haiti disaster relief fund.  With so many natural disasters in the

After ten singles and three

albums, Miranda Lambert hit the top of the charts for the first time with

‘White Liar.’  BMI held a party in

honor of Miranda and BMI songwriter Natalie Hemby.  Now this isn’t your typical industry number one party.  Guests were encouraged to dress in

black or white 40’s style for this late-night celebration. Miranda just kicked

off her first headlining tour ‘Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars,’ which will

include stops with the Lilith Fair and even Bonnaroo in June.

years, so it was tough for a lot of country fans to believe when they announced

last year that they will soon go their separate ways.  Fans across the world have been snatching up tickets to

their farewell tour, appropriately named the Last Rodeo Tour.  During a press conference at this

year’s Country Radio Seminar, the duo announced their final show together will

be held in Nashville August tenth, with proceeds going to the Country Music

Hall of Fame.

Association International is gearing up for the 18th annual Tin Pan

South Songwriters Festival. 

Between March 30 and April 3, the event takes over the downtown area.  In 2009, 350 songwriters played over 80

shows at nine different Nashville venues, and were seen by over 9-thousand

music fans.  We wanted to get a

sneak peek at this year’s lineup, so we headed out to the Tin Pan South preview

artists came together to raise money for the school.  The Dustin J. Wells Foundation’s third annual Gift of Music

benefit concert at the Wildhorse Saloon helped the school with more than just

money. This year’s Gift of Music benefit concert

raised enough money to keep the school giving these low-cost lessons going for Nashville’s

underprivileged kids.

Showdown begins each Spring with over 450 local talent contests sponsored by

country music radio stations across America.  Winners advance to state competitions through the summer,

and then can advance to one of five regional finals.  The last step is the National Final held at the historic

Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, where the Showdown is hosted by LeAnn

Rimes.  Up for grabs is one hundred

Christian music, but they are enjoying a taste of success with country, now,

BrightStone is a facility

in Franklin, Tennessee that provides total life needs for adults with

developmental disabilities.  The

facility helps to expand their potential, and helps them develop mentally,

physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.  Since Trace Adkins is well-known for his big heart, he

seemed a natural fit to bring along a few of his friends to help raise money

for BrightStone at a songwriters night in Franklin.
