Do you think you're a failure? Honestly, reading those words "I'm a failure" feels outrageous. Like, who would ever say that about themselves?
Maybe you've never actually said those words to yourself, but perhaps you've alluded them in another way. It's not "I'm a failure" but rather "I'm a terrible mom" or "I always mess things up" or "I can't do anything right."
Those words are a slippery slope to adopting failure as an identity.
In this week's episode we'll identify the sneaky ways failure starts to take over our lives. We're not denying that failure will happen, we're just reframing the way we think about failure. While it is a part of life, it's not life itself.
We'll also come up with a gameplan to combat this lie for the next time it tries to sneak it's way into our mind.
Oh! And I can't wait to share the surprising thing I learned about the word "failure" that will forever change the way you think about it.

Ever feel stuck? Like, no matter how hard you try, you can't change. Or maybe it's not you, but your situation or your environment or even that person.
What if I told you that was a lie?
See, we often limit ourselves in life because we believe that where we're at is final, when in reality it's just a chapter in our life. Often times, the reason we are stuck is because we've allowed ourselves to be comfortable here. In other words, we've told ourselves we can't make a change and therefore, we have chosen to be stuck.
The beautiful thing about life is that we can always make a change. We can pivot, redirect or even start all over if we choose.
In this episode, we'll identify the origins of this lie and look at the ways it manifests in our life. We'll also build up a case against this lie and train ourselves to combat it, the next time it pops into our mind.

How often would you say that you neglect doing something, simply because of the opinions of others?
I know what you're thinking, I never do that. It's easy to believe we don't care about what other people think. But the truth is, we do.
And we don't even realize it until it shows up - when we don't post, when we don't speak up, when we choose what is comfortable rather than what is good for us.
And often times, the biggest opinion we're afraid of, is our own.
We count ourselves out before we even give ourselves a chance to try. If we don't try, we can't disappoint ourselves and therefore don't have to live with the consequences.
In this episode we're dismantling the lie, "everyone is judging me." We know that people aren't thinking about us as much as we believe they are, but it's much deeper than that. We've already decided that who we are and what we're trying to do isn't good enough.

Tell me, what's something you're looking forward to. Maybe it's a trip or an upcoming event. It might even be a season of life you're anxious to get to.
Now that we're on the subject, I'm curious... Do you feel like your anticipation and excitement for that things is hindering your ability to be happy here and now? I'm willing to bet is has.
See, we can be so eager for something that we will what's right in front of us. It's like waiting for Christmas Day and missing out on the entire Christmas season.
And what happens if that thing you're hoping for never arrives or, when it does, it doesn't satisfy you the way you thought it would?
Believing that happiness can only happen on the other side of that moment, event or person is one of the biggest lies we cal allow ourselves to be trapped in. And while change is good and it's wonderful to have things to look forward to, we can't be so caught up in "one day" that we miss this day.
In this episode, we're going to call out this lie for what it is, identify some of the ways this lie gets rooted in our minds and arm ourselves to fight it in the future.

Have you ever stopped to think about what you're thinking about?
Seriously.
Those thoughts that fill up your mind are not just fluttering butterflies passing by. They're actually bees who are looking for a flower on which to latch themselves to. Some are good and some are bad.
If we're not careful, we can catch bad thoughts and allow them to take root in our minds, thus becoming our entire personality. Because our brains are malleable, constantly growing and acquiring new knowledge, we can inadvertently teach our brains to actively work against us.
But the good news is, we a can also shape our brains in to resilient muscles that can withstand pressure and weight. We can allow positive, encouraging and motivating thoughts to dig deep roots in our brains which can push us to new heights that we couldn't have dreams were possible.
So, let me ask you again, have you ever stopped to think about what you're thinking about? Because your future depends on it. In this episode, we're stepping into a new series called You're Lying to Yourself where we will dismantle the most common lies we tell outselves week by week.
We'll set the stage by discussing how the brain can become our greatest ally or our biggest adversary. And we'll highlight the importance of taking some mental inventory regulary.

If we were to look at our year like a football or basketball game, we would be starting the second half right about now. The first half is done and whether we feel like we're winning or losing, there's still more minutes to be played.
It's crucial that we huddle up and head into the lockerroom for a few minutes in order for us to have a successful second half. Because at the end of the day, the goals you've set for yourself matter.
Yeah, you remember those resolutions right? The ones you scribbled into you journal or pinned to a vision board at the beginning of the year. Those things are still worth chasing, but we've got to be strategic now that we're midway through 2026.
So, in this episode we'll talk about three things that need to happen before we get back on the field. We need to review some things, renew some things and recover some things.

Recently I had the pleasure of attending my high school reunion which has a way of making you feel both old and young simultaneously.
It was just me going to this thing so I had not backup with my super cool husband to fall back on, but honestly I think going at it alone was the best option for me. I was able to engage and be present with people I hadn't seen in decades in a way I don't think I could have been with reinforcements.
I also learned a few things that I'd like to share with you today.
Now, these may be principles that you've heard before, but hearing them again, I think, can only help. So, if you will induldge me, I'd like to talk about the people, the places and the chapters of our lives that matter the most. And why stepping back in time - pausing to reflect on life gives you more drive for what lies ahead.

Regardless if we have ever met or not, there's something I know about you...
You've got something special going on.
You've got something within you that is dying to be let out. It's a business idea or a passion project or a new vision for your family. Perhaps it's just a better, healthier version of yourself. It's the thing that keeps you up at night and gets you out of bed in the morning. It's a stirring within your soul - something that you just can't shake.
And yet, it sits there.
Day after day, month after month, year after year but why? It obviously matters to you, otherwise you would have forgotten about it long ago. It must matter to God since He is likely the one who put it there in the first place. But, for whatever reason, you won't make a move on it.
Please, please let it out. Take the first step. Put it down on paper. Do something about it. Whatever it is, the world needs it, your family needs it, you need it.
As we begin a new season of the Inside Voice Podcast, let this be the very juice you need injected into your veins. It's time to dream again, to want more for yourself and your family again. It's time to get out of your comfort zone and become the main character in your story again.

Ever feel like you're just watching your life go by? I mean, you could chase after that big dream in your heat, but the thought of it not working out leaves you sitting on the sidelines.
That's insecurity ruling your life.
This is a weight we tend to carry with us even into adulthood. We're unsure of outcomes, success or every progress and we use that as an excuse not to try. It's too risky. It wouldn't be wise to try that. I've got too much at stake.
But what if life - your real life - was waiting for you on the other side of your try?
It's time to drop the weight of insecurity and get back to living!
In this episode we'll pinpoint where our insecurity comes from. (spoiler alert: some of it is valid), we'll talk about why it's unhealthy for us and we'll identify some helpful exercises that will help us unload this weight once and for all.
You ready? Hit play.
This summer we're slimming down! But rather than focus on physical weight, we're working to drop the mental and emotional burdens that are truly holding us back.
Like, remember that thing that happened seventeen years ago that you're still letting consume your life? The person who hurt you or the job that didn't work out.
If you find that you're still (as my dad would say) walking around with a chip on your shoulder, there's no better time than now to drop that weight. Unburden yourself of the heaviness that's hurting you in more ways than one.
In this episode we'll talk about bitterness, resentment and anger and the things you can do to finally get out from underneath this weight.
