In this episode, we had the remarkable opportunity to speak with some missionaries directly from Carthage Jail. For those who are new to the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon church), Carthage Jail was the place where Joseph Smith, Jr, the first latter-day prophet in the LDS Church, was killed. He was in jail awaiting trial when a mob of angry men broke through the door and shot both Joseph and Hyrum, Joseph's brother.
