Philosophy is a continuous conversation between people who are interested in the both the big, and the ordinary questions of life. This conversation has been exploring what it is to be a human, and how we can live our lives as individuals, and with each other within our societies, for nearly three thousand years.
For the last few centuries it has gradually located itself within academic institutions, however Philosophical Practitioners are now coming back out into the community. Combining the insights of both Philosophy and Psychotherapy, within the context of a counselling process. This approach to Philosophy has been rediscovered over the last few decades both in Europe and North America. It is often called a Socratic approach to Philosophy, because it was Socrates who first took to the streets of Athens to talk to everyone that was interested, about the questions and problems of human life. He focused on Practical Wisdom.
As a Philosophical Practitioner Josephson wants to help people to embrace wisdom as they deal with the problems of living. Through directed questioning and discussion, as individuals and within groups, Philosophy can open up our thinking, and expand our understanding of ourselves. This helps us understand others, and the moral dimension of action in the world. It helps us look at meaning and purpose within the framework of our values, so that the answers we find to the dilemma's of life, are true and authentic to who we are, and who we want to be. Today we have a another very special guest joining us today to discuss solutions to the current state of affairs from the pandemic to racial issues to feminism. Our guest is a multi awardwinning filmmaker which includes 7 Emmys. She is a singer songwriter, author & producer.
Patricia Gras, began her diverse career in Spain after graduating from Thunderbird and ESADE’s dual Master program in 1985 as the first and youngest female product manager with Gallina Blanca Purina.
In 1988, Patricia shifted gears and returned to the US to become a pioneer in Spanish television in Houston by finding the first Telemundo newscast as a reporter, producer and host. For the next 22 years, as a reporter, producer and TV host, she won 170+ broadcasting awards, more than any other producer in Houston PBS’ history. Her local, national and international awards included 7 television Emmys, 17 national Tellys and several international film festival awards. She has been inducted to the Who’s Who in America, in the Media and International Biography.
Patricia speaks 5 languages and has travelled to 54 countries. She has also lived in 8 different cities around the world.
Her award-winning international documentaries include Living Smart with Patricia Gras, which has aired on over 200 PBS channels for 7 seasons. Career highlights have included interviews with Presidents such as Jimmy Carter and George Bush senior and hosting of the first national PBS show on Nelson Mandela.
In 2014, she wrote The Yin and Yang of a Small Fish in a Big Murky Pond to share her lifetime experiences in the media and music and began a podcast in Spanish with two other bilingual journalists (www.programafactorm.com) about current women’s issues. Additionally, Patricia is also a professional singer/musician. She has produced four CD’s with her bands and her latest CD, titled “Simplicity” is her solo endeavor.

Gunter has authored a novel Mountains of Sea published by Winterwolf Press and he self-published the non-fiction, Making Good Men Great: Surfing the New Wave of Masculinity. Both books are available at all major and independent retailers globally. The Making Good Men Great Movement also made Oprah’s #MustWatch list in 2018.
