Get to know Eric:
Eric was born in Southern Ohio in 1968. Joined the Navy in 1986 after High school. Earned his BS in Wildlife Biology from Ohio University Athens, Ohio. Husband to one awesome wife since 1995, father to three wonderful children and soon to be blessed with a second grandchild. Hobbies are hunting, fishing, putzing on things around the house, learning about subjects of interest and listening to music from 80s and 90s.

On April 7, 1945 a young tail gunner, Leon L. Barnes was killed when a piece of another plane crashed into his. Join me as i ead Myra's history with a bit of information I have gathered, and three pieces of American public domain music.
Wen Airman Barnes enlisted he was 5'10" tall and weighed 145 pounds. He had brown eyes and hair and fair skin. He had one sibling, a twin sister.

Learn about Alma:
Rear Admiral Alma Lau Grocki, born and raised in Hawaii, and was the first woman from Hawaii to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1981. She served at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as Ship Superintendent for Submarine NR-1, concurrently earning her Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, at the University of New Hampshire.
At Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY), she was a Nuclear Ship Superintendent for numerous submarine overhauls, and the first woman officer to accompany her submarine on post-maintenance Sea Trials.
In 1988 Grocki transferred to the Navy Reserve, serving nine Commanding Officer tours of maintenance units throughout the country. She was a volunteer U.S. Naval Academy Blue and Gold Area Coordinator for 20 years assisting high school students and Fleet sailors and Marines with admissions to the Academy.
Grocki was recalled to active duty as the Director, Submarine Maintenance, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Deputy Operations, PHNSY, and Director, Fleet Maintenance, U.S. Pacific Fleet. She was the first SurgeMain National Director, the largest Navy Reserve program in history.
Grocki retired in 2016 from the Navy after 35 years of service as Deputy, NAVSEA, Reserve Senior Engineering Duty Officer (EDO). She was responsible for creation and approval of the EDO Qualification insignia, now worn by all EDOs.
Grocki consults for FlatironDragados overseeing the new PHNSY dry dock construction. She serves on non-profit organization Boards focusing on veterans and preservation of historic sites: Oahu Veterans Center, Ke’ehi Lagoon Memorial, Battleship Missouri, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, Pacific Historic Parks, American Legion Auxiliary, Hawaii Girls State, and the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council.

Wayne H. Bowen is Professor of History and Interim Dean for the College of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Central Florida. He received a B.A. in History from the University of Southern California, an M.A. and Ph.D. in European History from Northwestern University, and a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. He has authored eleven books, seven on Spanish history, and more than two dozen journal articles, work that has been published in ten countries and translated into Spanish, Polish, French, and Turkish. Bowen served 30 years in the Army Reserve, retiring as a colonel.

SGT Agnelli was a fun-loving teen who had a nice personality, he was a high school athlete who received his high school diploma while in training. His best friend, Buddy Begg was also killed. He liked fishing and hunting. He was 5'7" and 150 pounds and a Catholic. He lived on a farm until he was 19. He died when he was 22.
