Interesting ideas with Stan Hustad

 Indeed we are just full of interesting ideas and of course we tell stories all the time because stories are really the only effective means of communication.  

So today I'm going to go back into my past where I helped a young man get a good start on a sales career because together we came up with that great opening line.... Would you like to see a picture of my dog.

It's worth the 15 minutes because you'll enjoy the story and you'll probably learn something and if you are in business for yourself you have to learn how to sell yourself, and sell your stuff, and sell your services, and find a way to tell your story and to get your prospects and customers to tell their stories...

Storytelling is the only effective means of communication and I'll try and demonstrate that great truth once again.

This could be the best way to spend 20 minutes this weekend.  The world is a mess and you can't do very much about it but you can restore some of your own sanity and restore and nourish your own soul!

So I go to one of the books that everybody should own and read three or four times. Lessons From Horses with Randy Helm... Until sometime this weekend take some time the listen to this story that Randy will tell you about how much more successful you will be if you simply learn how, does slow down and be still.

You will thank me.

I used to have to fly a lot and because of that I often got bumped up to first class at no cost and that made the trip a little more tolerable.  But I have an important appointment that I have to make, and to do it I will have to take an airplane ride. I do not look forward to it at all.

And so that got me thinking about the trains that I used to ride in when I was very young. And I recall that whenever I got the opportunity to ride on a train it was like magic, it was wonderful.

So let me enjoy myself by telling myself the story about those happy times and it makes me happy just to remember them and talk about them.

 "Well we know the planet is warning" is what the well-dressed young man said on the television, to which I gently replied no we don't know that.  Obviously he didn't hear me and probably just as obviously no one else ever said that to him.

But because so many people feel that it is or might be there are all kinds of things being proposed and tried and we certainly had one of the dumbest ones come out this weekend. And there were times during the weekend in which I wanted to say how can it be that's such a good and great country is often in the hands ...

... of people who are neither.  So let me propose a simple personal solution that might keep you from being that dumb and that stupid.

And here is the start of the story, I remember when flying was fun.  Are you that old like me?

Well let's talk about that sometime, like right now because it might be helpful and thoughtful and maybe just give you a good memory, for right now,

I guess better late than never is at least better.  And we sought to make it a commemoration and a bit of a celebration.  The war in Vietnam came to an official end of US conflict 50 years ago this year ... and about a year and a half after the end of conflict, the war itself came to an end as the South Vietnamese were defeated and for all practical purposes the war was lost by all.

We took time in our church and joined with many others around the country in finally welcoming the Vietnam veterans and survivors home and also honoring the families and friends of them, and of course remembering those who didn't come back ... and we sought to finally welcome them all home.  To give them a thank you and the tribute they finally and fully deserve.

This is just a brief story about what happened yesterday.

There are deep unseen spiritual forces at work to try and help you be at your best and be blessed. But nothing gets in the way of those forces than a restless spirit of worry and anxiety coupled with fear.

I love to hear cowboy stories. That's one of the reasons that the weather takes radio company is the producer of a world-class worldwide podcast called, The Cowboy Up Podcast.  And there are more life lessons that you can learn from being on a farm and ranch and dealing with the critters.

In fact did you know that in past times the wealthy families from the east coast used to make it a practice to send their young women many miles away to places like Arizona and the western world and the young women had to work in the hard dirty and tough work of being ranchhands.

It was good for them and if I ran the world I would insist that every young man or woman before they could enter professional practice or education spend time on the ranch.  

Well it was from a South Dakota rancher in my wife's family who taught me some great life lessons when one day after dinner he told me about "critters."  

And so I would encourage you to take 15 minutes to learn some important life lessons from an old South Dakota rancher.

Yesterday was a very special day for me because I really wasn't expecting to be here but not only am I here I'm doing quite well for a man of my age and stage.

So there's a story there and I think you'll find it interesting.

And now we are big into creating a whole lot of personal and professional development programs that we put under the title of How to be World-Class !

... And before you think that that's boastful or snobbery or a bit of elitism and nose in the air, please let me tell you what I mean by aspiring to be world class.

it's Sunday night and hopefully you had some time for rest relaxation reflection and worship and now you are thinking about the week of head of you and maybe even the life ahead of you.

 Remember that speed does kill and yet speed wins and perhaps that's the best way to begin to think about how AI might work in our life and business.

And remember if you know me in many of my past life and appearances that I have always said that every business in every organization needs a CWO.  Do you know what a CWO is?

Well in this short conversation I would like to tell you and then hopefully encourage you to find somebody who can help you deal with all of the hype and hope and all of the fear and frightfulness and all of the limited knowledge and no wisdom that is all about us when it comes to AI and U.

So today with the help of others I want to give you a few minutes of some interesting ideas to think about while you were enjoying the rest the relaxation, grabs a time of reflection and maybe a moment or two of worship in your summer weekend.
