It's Friday and I often say Friday is future day we think about what is ahead and it's also leadership day. This program is for those who want to lead and make a difference in their life and business. If you are not a leader please do not listen. It's best if you do something else. But for those who want to live differently in life this 20 minute program is for you.

Please remember the great truth in life that everything you've learned about the things you do could be wrong. Have the courage to see if that might be true.  Then I'm going to tell you a very short story and I want you to tell me whether you think it is a real story a true story.

And then with your permission May I challenge you to start doing some things about how you seek to lead others, sell others, get people to follow you, get them to believe you and trust you and help you inspire hope in others. 

If any of those things are of interest to you this might be a good thing to take 20 minutes out of your weekend to at least see and hear what I'm up to and perhaps what you should be up to now.

It is a matrix that we are all caught in whether we know it or not and it is something that makes my life much more complicated and yet in many ways more pleasant. No I'm not real Amish at all, but there is a part of me that in metaphor  and in spirit makes me very Amish... I once to wear a hat that said, "I'm old school". Which my daughters said, "Dad you don't need the hat we all know that you are."

And I won't change but I will deal with it and my  claim today is that if you want to be successful in business today and in the marketplace, for the most part you're going to have to deal with it too. Now some of you will just abandon totally anything old or anything traditional and go on your modern innovative inventive iconic destroying way disrupting everything. 

But you may discover that that may not be a very good idea and you've gotta learn how to be smart clever, able to understand the times know what to do. So since it's not only an interesting idea it's important for you to deal with that's what I'm gonna do today. Yes how do you handle ... The Modern Amish Matrix.

 Most podcasts are too long or too short, but this one is just right.  And let's talk about the highest paid Super Bowl player in the show on Sunday.  And maybe there's some lessons for you right there. 

As you go through life you find that you have to learn about things that you never thought you would or wanted to. That is happened to me and so let me tell you what I have discovered why this is a special month in February.

And then in a prayer I heard a powerful line that got me to thinking because there were so many people living in the hurt and pain of what that prayer was all about. Sometimes it's me, maybe at you, and often it's for all of us. Let me tell you with those powerful few words were!

I spelled the word wrong but it was on purpose.  Reprise means a repeat performance and in that sense this is true but I wanted you to know that it's more. It's a prize because I want to introduce you to somebody that you should pay attention to. Is long past but he has left quite a legacy and his name is Howard Thurman.  And there is a very good chance that you've never heard of him.  

And because February is often celebrated as Black History Month this would be a good time for me to introduce you to him.  And so shortly after the Floyd George incident in Minneapolis Minnesota I did a program about all that was going on and suggested that this would be a good time to talk about him.  

And in the midst of the mess we're in today it's probably just as important that we think about him.  So that's the repeat performance for the day and I also am going to introduce you to a powerful idea called S O S. 

In today's performance economy it is important that you understand why you need three places you need to have a SOS where you live and where you work.

 And thanks today as the program begins with that incredible music wonder group of my youth, The Fifth Dimension with up up and away! And we begin with a little talk about the balloons and the obvious incompetence that we are discovering in parts of our leadership today.  And then some thoughts about the Super Bowl and a little bit of wisdom and especially from Joe Willy Namath.

And then we needed as I suggested last week a better Super Bowl show that was about us and not about the celebrities.  I think I could've produced a better program for the audience because I would've included them in the show.  And I have a couple nice stories about the national anthem and what we could've done and should've done.

And often the NFL players gather for prayer at the end of the game and perhaps we should've done the old Burt Bacharach song ... I say a little prayer for you.

 Well on the last show I just challenged you to learn the formula for doing a great Super Bowl commercial.  Again I cannot believe that there are people who have had sales marketing and retail training who don't yet know the very basics of the AIDDA formula.  And that is basic to all good marketing Saleem and persuasion speaking.  So learn how to do it and do it well and teach it to your team and your colleagues,

And then I would like to do a little reminiscing about the music of Burt Bacharach and his colleagues upon his passing this weekend.  And then hopefully I bring the whole thing together with some random thoughts actually make some sense so you can live with a little more hope your life and some encouragement for the week ahead.

And remember 23 you were called upon to create and do something brand new so take some time to care for somebody else whenever you can whisper a little prayer.

I'm not being silly, maybe a bit light hearted ... But we're going to have some fun with some stories about the Super Bowl in the Super Bowl commercials and what you can learn from them, which unfortunately is not much.  The whole weekend is a rather silly adventure in an artificial holiday that centers around a football game and commercials.

But I'm going to show you why you need to learn about radio and television and how it works in business as I tell you the story behind why you should do a Super Bowl commercial and what the Super Bowl commercial can do for you.  

In fact if you're serious about your business and career you still have a good chance to get off to a good start in 23 and doing a Super Bowl commercial for you your life your business you're good cause your favorite charity your church and the place of worship that is meaningful to you and the service clubs and organizations you belong to.

You need to listen to this 25 minutes so that you know how to begin to do a Super Bowl commercial.    

It's worthwhile important and quite a bit of fun so take a 20+ minute break on this Thursday to listen to the program and on Friday share it with your friends and your business associates and see how they respond to the whole deal.

 Dale Carnegie many years ago said that if you wanted to be successful in winning friends and influencing people and making your mark in the marketplace you had to learn the art of public speaking.  You didn't have to believe that but it was true. You may not be a salesman or sales woman but you have to know how the sales process can work.  And most people get their information today through the radio, the podcast, the audio and video media.  

So even if you don't know or do those things you need to know how they work because there are Incredibles marketing and sales strategies that you do need to know that you can learn. 

In 15 minutes I'm gonna tell you things that you didn't know before I guarantee it and knowing them will be very very helpful for you in whatever you're trying to accomplish this week and for your business and career.   So be smart and use these 15 minutes as part of your 20 minutes every day of learning something you didn't know that'll help you grow.

 I sometimes have mixed feelings about the title of these programs. I truly believe that we should talk about interesting ideas whether they are good or bad or just interesting. But sometimes there are things that just need to be said or shared because they are challenging. And because they are challenging we may not have to do anything but in some way we have to make a choice. We can dismiss it as nonsense. We can embrace it as a new reality and perhaps make it part of our own truth. 

Or perhaps we can decide that we will do something differently or think differently or at least be more thoughtful about some of the patterns of evidence and belief that we have and some of the behaviors we are exhibiting.  I was going to talk about mortgage on your soul today but then based on a video that I saw last night on the television program my soul was struck with the reality that I found almost incomprehensible.

And yet except for a few brave souls like the one on the program we indeed talk about politics that are irrelevant and stupid balloons put up and dealt with by stupid people.  So this is simply my contribution but hopefully a few more people will discover what I discovered and discover that they need to think about that and do something about it.

 Well that's what I want to talk about and I also want to begin to question you about who has a mortgage on your soul? ... And now it is more vital than ever that every week you do an SOS on your office on your inbox and maybe in your life... And we have opportunities for you because today if you want a good job not just a job, you are going to have to help create it yourself. And we can tell you how to start doing it. 

And if you're going to interview for a job, everything you've learned before is probably wrong so let me give you some of the new realities about throwing away your résumé and doing something different which is on the agenda for everybody these days.
