I confess I have never heard about it and maybe that means I'm out of it, but when it comes to pop culture I'm out of a lot of things. However someone suggested that it was an interesting idea by a woman named Mel Robbins, and so I looked it up.  She obviously is a remarkable woman with a worldwide following. So I'm starting to find out about the five second rule and maybe you can help me but here are my thoughts right off the top of my head about the five second rule.

For years I have been known by a slogan that I stole from a mentor. Most of us don't need educating as much as we need reminding. You've heard this five minutes before. Even God needed to rest and you're not God so you need to figure out how  every day how to rest and to find a system for sleeping well through the night. So please let me have five minutes to encourage you to live well by sleeping well.

Today in many of our churches the lesson was one of my favorite stories. The Prodigal Son, and of course some of us can relate to the prodigal son, and a lot of us can relate to the older brother.  But remember the story is not about the two brothers.

But in the words of Paul Harvey have you ever wondered what is the rest of the story. What happened after the wild child came home. Please give me 15 minutes and I'll share with you a story that a friend told me... And I believe the next 15 minutes might leave you with a message that you will never forget for the rest of your life. At least I hope so.

But he knew something that all of us need to know today,  Give me about 10 minutes today and I'll tell you the story.

How many times in life would you really like to know what is going on and what you should do.  That is often a every day and many many times in your life the desire you have.  Well in ancient wisdom there's a word to describe a person like you and what you should seek to be and the kind of help you need.  Five minutes today and being a Issachar Person

 When it comes right down to it there are a lot of people, and in some ways most people who "the old film, are dead man walking.  The Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Junior, taught and mentored by a man that still mentors me today and he should also be a mentor to you. You need to discover Howard Thurman, and he will tell you what the World needs now. I think you might be surprised.

Whether you know it or not everybody has to sell things. You have to sell yourself. How do you get a job without selling yourself. That's just one example of why everybody needs to learn how to sell. But most people don't have a clue of how to sell including people who do it for a living.  That's why most sales people fail. Well I have part of the answer and I'll start to tell you the story in four minutes and we begin in Hibbing Minnesota.

My friend Dave Kahle is successful in life but he has gone through an incredible amount of distress and humiliation and difficulty.  Like you and me.  But recently he shared what he calls the If You Let IT, as the way deal with it all.  It certainly is an interesting idea and so with Dave's permission to share it with you.  Today in the United States a hearing begins to evaluate the latest nominee to be added to the United States Supreme Court.  In the recent past Brett Kavanaugh was nominated and the ordeal he went through because of the accusation without a shred of evidence that he had assaulted a young woman as a young man was brutal and horrifying. One of the persons leading the opposition was Kamala Harris. One can wonder whether Karma has come to Kamala. It is an interesting idea.
