Truly life is difficult and if you want to make God laugh, try telling him your plans because life is what happens when you're making other plans. Here's a word of truth to start the week with a little bit of a smile. Could it be that a tombstone or a place in the tabloids is it in your future. Well at least one of them, so hopefully with a touch of wisdom and maybe a touch of humor and wit may I suggest that we need to live carefully and thoughtfully because who knows we might land up in the tabloids and for sure someday we're going to land up with a tombstone. And then what do you want it to say. Interesting stories and ideas from Stan as we start the week that is and was a time for deep reflection and changed action.
And of course the older you get, and it's good to get older when you compare it to the alternative, thoughtful people take time, certainly more time than when they were younger to think about their lives, how they are and where they are going. In fact God designed the week so that you would take one full day just to do that. Do you do that. Well here's that story of someone who discovered coming back from a funeral that they needed to take a count of their lives in the light of the regrets that many people had when they were dying. Take 20 minutes of this weekend for a little entertainment and perhaps some thoughtful reflection. Best and blessings.
I confess this is a bit of a rant on the radio. But as the father of two daughters I cannot help but wonder why with the current attempt to allow men to dominate women's athletics the more fathers are not stepping up and fighting for their daughters. As one of my friends said, sometimes your interesting ideas programs, will have to be in expose of some really bad ideas. And I guess this is one of those programs in about seven minutes. But I would like to hear your response and your ideas of what we should do.
Years ago the greater management consultant Peter Drucker and come to the conclusion that he could not help a leader or a manager of a major organization unless that person could answer the question, "how do you want to be remembered." I just discovered that I lost a good friend who actually helped us begin a radio program in Tucson Arizona. Life was rugged for him at the end, but I remember him well for a number of good things he did for me and things he taught me.
On this busy Tuesday where you are doing a whole lot of things that you have to do, and overwhelmed many times by the many obstacles you're going to face in life today and the challenges of all times it seems. I just want to remind you that most people die with some regrets in mind. We'll talk about that in a later podcast. But these are a few minutes of some very present wisdom, and not just for me but from those who shared it with me.
Someday I would like to do a program with Jordan Peterson. Maybe he'll hear this podcast and he'll invite me to a conversation. Because that's what I'm gonna do by myself. You need to watch a video and that is what Jordan said, "Stop dressing like a 10-year-old", and I agree and I've been saying the same thing for over 20 years. That's why I'm known for the expression camera image is not everything but it is the first thing. So for 10 minutes on this Monday evening Jordan and I are going to share a bit of wisdom that will help you this week. I guarantee it.
Enjoying by the great psychologist Carl Jung... Take about 15 minutes for some entertainment, maybe some enlightenment and maybe a way to deal with your loneliness as I share what I hope are some interesting and helpful ideas about what to do if you feel lonely, and unimportant. We have to help you because you are the most important person in the world.
Well we are all being told by those who think they know better than us that we should all get an electric car. Did you know that the first cars, horseless carriages, were electric and seemed to be a good idea but eventually the gasoline auto carried the day. Oh it's an interesting story fun and entertaining to hear, and you need to know that the car started because of manure.
I confess I have never heard about it and maybe that means I'm out of it, but when it comes to pop culture I'm out of a lot of things. However someone suggested that it was an interesting idea by a woman named Mel Robbins, and so I looked it up. She obviously is a remarkable woman with a worldwide following. So I'm starting to find out about the five second rule and maybe you can help me but here are my thoughts right off the top of my head about the five second rule.
