In my last session I talked about leadership and I promise you that we would do a follow up on president Z from Ukraine. Well here in the classic words of Paul Harvey is the rest of the story and I think you will find it fascinating and I want you to watch it for 15 minutes and then think of all the lessons in leader ship that you can learn from the story about the comedian who became president who became a hero. God bless him and keep him safe from the assassins trying to kill him.
We post this podcast on messy Monday, March 14. And of course the whole world is in a mess as a result of the conflict and the war in eastern Europe between Ukraine and Russia. Certainly there are many heroes among the Ukraine people and their helpers and defenders
However the best known is the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. And may I share a borrowed piece of a good reporting from John F Harris and the title tells the tale make sure you listen and think about the lesson for us all... This is an important 15 minutes for you and your business and maybe for much more than that.
Most of us are glad it's Friday in this challenging and difficult week and we're hoping that we can enjoy the weekend and perhaps have a good Monday. And I often ask people do you know what you're going to do on Monday. Why in the world do I do that, well there's a good reason why I do that and maybe you know and think that's good, but maybe we don't know what's going to happen on Monday and I would like to talk about that.
Most of you have no idea what the title meets unless you're kind of old like me. So I will tell you the story. But it is now obvious that we are at war. We are involved in a war that is bloody, horrible, and going to get worse. And we truly don't know how that war is going to end or what it is going to do to us. For sure the price of gas will go up but a lot of other things could happen, and none of them good. So let me talk about that and tell you about War Time .
As we said in our previous broadcast so many people are adrift, full of anxiety, angry, and alone... And this past weekend I came across a startling question that is very much related to adrift, anxious, and alone ... When did you first realize that life had passed you by. And there was a woman who had a very strong and definite answer to that. Yes she knew that life had passed her by. And then I realized that I know people just like that, and I also know people who are letting that happen to them now! So here in 15 minutes are my thoughts on that question.
Yes I mean that. There are many things that are fear-full and many things that we have to overcome. But stop teaching fear to your children. Take the masks that are in your family and safely and carefully and symbolically burn them. It's a good Ash Wednesday yesterday thing to do. I will challenge you to do something very important and to remember that you may have benefited from and you can benefit your children by throwing them into a stream of grace.
Hey my friend it's a busy and chaotic week but I think I've got something that I'd like to think about and talk about and perhaps even wonder if it's important. It appears that indeed Vladimir Putin has made a very creative move in terms of getting his way in Ukraine. And as I watch the news and all of the diplomatic and military and program efforts to avert this conflict ... Not help but notice the difference between Putin and the rest of the players in this drama. Does it matter? This is just 15 minutes for your thought and consideration and you help me decide.
Indeed it's Presidents' Day. One of those kind of made up holidays and the usefulness of it has probably long past. I will spend my time doing something better than even thinking about it ... We'll talk about the President and in his wisdom said that you can't fool all the people all the time. But he certainly believed that you can fool a number of them, maybe lots of them. That's good enough. That's one interesting idea and in 15 minutes you can gain even more.
