In general, in our country Argentina, people eat four meals a day.
Unlike other countries, Argentina has a "sweet" and lighter breakfast.
Lunch isn’t very heavy either, but it’s savory. It’s usually something quick.
The afternoon snack, or merienda, is important, as it’s typically enjoyed around 4 or 5 PM. In Buenos Aires, restaurants aren’t open at that time. Instead, people gather in cafés, sipping coffee and eating sandwiches.
Dinner is the heaviest meal of the day. It’s when we eat more abundantly.
What really sets us apart is the timing—while the dishes are similar to those in other countries, in Argentina, dinner starts at 8 PM at the earliest, and that’s considered early!
