  • How I Never Run Out Of Content Ideas
Coming up with content ideas consistently probably is one of the biggest challenges for us content creators. To come up with content ideas is one thing, to come up with the exact content ideas that really speak to our target audience is completely different thing.
After jumping into this publishing contents game for some time, I've categorized our contents into three main categories. Understanding the category your contents fit into makes it so much easier for you to come up with ideas. Having absolute clarity on this is how I am able to create new and fresh contents on daily basis without worrying what to talk and share!
Want to be able to do the same? Let's listen in now!

  • What Is Your Backend Offer?
Dan Kennedy said:" Whoever can spend the most to acquire a customer wins." When it comes to growing your business or following on social media, you want to be the one who can spend the most to acquire a customer. Because if that happens, no one else is able to acquire as many customers as you could. You are going to destroy your competitors.
Let's talk about how you can afford acquiring more customers.
    ---TRANSCRIPT---
    (00:00):
Hey, everyone, this is Lik Foon and I hope you're doing awesome today. And today I want to talk about building up the back end of your business so that it can help to support everything you're doing around your business to bring in more customers, generate more sales and most importantly not losing money.
    (00:19):
All right. So the topic today is specifically about the backend of your business and backend means everything that happens behind your business that is supporting your business model. And this ties back to what I talk about yesterday. So yesterday I talked about how you want to be able to have your backend, that can support you to acquire a customer for free. And I said, basically your backend is about three things. It is about your offer. It is about your funnel and traffic.
    (01:00):
So offer is the main thing that you sell in your business that is generating most of the revenues and profits in your business. This is your main offer. And then the next thing is the funnel, the funnel that you used to sell your offer. And finally, it's about the traffic. Traffic means people, the people that you are targeting. But today our focus is on the offer part because that is the main component of your backend, because you need to have something to sell that can generate money and profits, right? For your business. I've talked a lot about how to create an irresistible offer in this podcast many episodes ago. So if you haven't already listen to those episodes, make sure you find those episodes and listen to it because that is the key to create something that people will want to buy and cant resist.
    (02:00):
And the reason why I want to talk about this today is right now, if you have been listening to my podcast, you know that in the last one month or so, I have been focusing a lot on trying to grow my following on Instagram. And I also said that when it comes to growing your following or business, there are really only just two ways to do it. Using the two resources that we are given. It is either using your time or money. So right now, the way I grow my following on Instagram is more to using my time and my following is growing, but it is slowly and it is very time consuming. The better way to do it is actually to turn on ads, to spend money because that is going to get your results instantly. But that is not what I'm going to do right now because of what I'm going to share with you next. So yesterday, if you remember, I talked about how you want to be able to acquire customer for free. You want to make sure that for every single $1 that you spend to acquire one buyer, you are getting back at least $1 in return, meaning you are at least break even.
    (03:17):
So when it comes to growing a following, it's the same. You want to make sure that for every $1 that you spend to acquire a follower, you want to at least breakeven, at least not losing money, right? And that all depends on your backend. It depends on if your back end can support you spending that money to acquire a follower or buyer. And for my business right now, my backend is mainly affiliate marketing. While affiliate marketing can pay you good money in commission when you are promoting someone else's product, but it is really not a long-term strategy. And, and I know that this business model will not be able to support me spending money to acquire followers. And if I was to turn on ads right now to acquire more followers, well, I know that my followers will instantly get multiplied. But if I do that, I have to pull money out of my pocket on my own, because my business model, my backend will not be able to support me doing something like that.
    (04:30):
And that's why I'm still not going to turn on ads to build my following, because it is not about the numbers. It is not about having a big following. It is about being able to acquire a follower for free. If I spend $100 today to grow my following, and by the end of the day, I get back $100 in return. I breakeven, and I get followers for free. That's when I know that this is a sustainable business model. That's when I know that it can support me spending money to acquire more followers. And that's when I will do it all day every day. So until that happens, until I have a strong back end, until I have my core offer figured out, I'm not going to turn on ads to grow the following just for the sake of doing it. So the main focus for me in my business right now is actually to build a stronger backend.
    (05:31):
And that's why I'm working on creating my main offer. And typically your main offers should be something that is higher in price and bringing in most of your revenues and profits. It has to be highly profitable because otherwise it will not be able to support you in doing everything around your business, to get in more customers, more sales or more profits. It will not be able to support you running ads, doing marketing campaigns, or spending money to grow your following. And that's what I want you to think about today. You need to look at your business right now, look at your backend and ask yourself if your current backend can support your entire business, if your main offer can support you doing everything around your business, to bring more customers. Let's say you are selling a $7 product as your main offer, as a back end, it will be hard for you to do a lot of things around your business to acquire more customers because the profit is so small and you might need to sell thousands and thousands of units of that product to be able to make good money that can support you and your business.
    (06:49):
So it is important for you to set your backend, your main offer as something that is highly profitable and scalable, because that is when you can afford to acquire more customers. And like Dan Kennedy said: In business, whoever can spend the most to acquire a customer wins. If you can spend $100 to acquire a buyer and still break even, no one else can outspend you. You are going to crush them because when you have a strong back end, that is when you can go really aggressive when you are doing your market campaigns or running ads, or even to grow your following. And that is going to give you an unfair advantage. So my homework for you today is to look at your business and see if you have a strong back end. What is the main offer that you promote to someone when someone comes to you? What is the main product that you are sending people to buy? And it should be something that's highly profitable, bringing in most of the revenues for your business that can sustain your business model that can allow you to do a lot of things around your business to get more sales and customers. And that is my goal for you today. Anyway, hope you get some value today. With that said, I will talk to you again tomorrow and take care.

  • 'Budget' Is a Bad Word In Marketing
When we try to spend money on something, we will always attach a budget to it. When it comes to our foods, there is budget for it. When it comes to buying our new phone, there is budget for it. However, in marketing you never want to have budget for it. You want to have unlimited budget when it comes to marketing of your business.
Let me show you how you can have unlimited budget for you marketing!
    ---TRANSCRIPT---
    (00:00):
Hey, what's up everyone. You're listening to Internet Profits Blueprint podcast, I'm Lik Foon. And today I wanna talk about why having budget in your marketing campaigns is bad for your business and what it means to have unlimited budget in your marketing campaigns.
    (00:16):
So when I first started in this online marketing journey, I invested in a lot of courses and trainings and just trying to learn the game. I remember when my mentor specifically talks about the running ads part, I will always get annoyed because I didn't have the budget. I didn't have the budget to run ads. I didn't have the money. And I will look at those big brands and company and think: "Maybe this game is not for small people like me. I will never be able to outspend them. And therefore there will be no place for me to stand out in the market, which is not true at all.
    (00:58):
But that was my belief that time. Understand that for entrepreneurs like us, there are only two resources we have in our business. It is either your time or money. You either spend time trying to build up your business, growing the following and making more sales, or you spend money on ads on your marketing campaigns to get more people in door. And the common question that people always ask is, how much budget I need to put aside if I want to be able to use ads to speed up my process, my business. First, I want you to think about what is the meaning of a budget. Budget means a specific amount that you are going to set aside, that you know, we'll never get back to money. That's budget. It is things like the food budget, the travel budget and the budget for new toys. These are what we called budget.
    (02:01):
When we want to spend money on these things, we will think about budget. We'll think about setting a budget that we can spend on these things. And when you attach budget to one thing, you already know that you will never get back the money. Basically, you just dump the money into the sea. So I think the right question when it comes to putting in money in your marketing campaigns, the right question to ask is not the budget. Is not how much budget you need to set aside, but rather, how can you make it so that for every single dollar that you spend, that you put in your marketing campaigns, you get back at least $1 in return instantly. That is a big shift in your thought process.
    (02:54):
Let's say you are, you have a $50 product that you want to sell. And let's say you spent $50 today on Facebook running ads. And by the end of the day, you'll get back $50. How often will you do that? You spend $50 and you get back $50 on the same day. How often will you do that? You will do it all day every day. And let me explain why. First off, it gets you a customer for free because when you spend $50 today and you get one customer to buy, it means that you break even, you are not losing money. It means that you didn't spend a dollar to turn a prospect into a buyer. And that is actually a huge win in our business. Even though you didn't make any money right now from this customer, because you only break even on your ad costs, but what's going to happen next is, on the back end, that's when you can continue to communicate with this customer through your email or SMS or any other ways to eventually ascend this customer to your next product.
    (04:13):
And the best part is, those money that you make from this customer from now on, are all pure profits. Because it doesn't cost you anything to generate the sale, because you already breakeven on the ad costs that you spent earlier to acquire this customer. Which brings us to the lesson today. When you decided to turn on the ads, well, your number one goal is not to multiply the profits that you make from the money spent. Your only goal is to at least breakeven on your ad costs as fast as possible so that you get to acquire the customer for free, so that you don't lose money to turn that prospect into buyer. Because when that happens, you don't have budget. You just continue to spend as much money as you could to acquire as many customers as possible.
    (05:13):
Again, even though you might not making a lot of money right now, you, you might only break even right now or maybe profitable a little bit, but now these people are your customers. You have their information and you can continue to communicate, build relationship and push them to your next thing. And obviously this is the best case scenario, to break even and not losing money. But what if you spent $50 today and you don't get back $50?
    (05:43):
This is when you will step back and to make changes on three things: your offer, your funnel and your traffic. Because every single time when something is not working in your marketing campaigns, it is always one of these three things.Your offer, your funnel or traffic, which I'm going to go deeper in next few days. But after you make changes on these three things, then you will go back and turn on the the ads again and see if you can at least break even on your ad cost to acquire a customer.
    (06:21):
And if you are, great, you continue to spend your money until you start losing money. And then you will go back to make changes again. And that is basically the process. I think my goal today is to get you to see that anyone can go to Facebook or YouTube or Google and spend $50 today and see if we are breaking even or profitable. And if you are, you don't have a budget, you do it all day every day. When it comes to marketing, you don't want to have a budget. You want to make it so that it doesn't cost you money to acquire a buyer. And that's the ultimate goal. I think this is of the biggest lessons I learned in my journey, and I hope you are getting it. This is how you can compete against big brands and names who have way more money than you do when it comes to marketing. And this is how you can outspend them. Anyway. That's my message for you today, hope it helps to get your wheels spinning. And that being said, I will talk to you again tomorrow and take care.

  • Why You Only Need a Small Following To Become Successful
Having the millions of followers is the ultimate goal for every single content creator out there. And while it is good to set that as goal, but it is also important to identify your buyers from your following. Because that is how you get paid right? So today, we are going to talk about building and growing your following on social media, and how to set your expectation right.
    ---TRANSCRIPT---
    (00:00):
Hey guys and gals, welcome back. This is Lik Foon. And today I want to reveal to you, why having a small following of people on social media is all you need to make good money on the internet and what you need to be focusing on moving onwards, when it comes to building and growing a following.
    (00:22):
Every single time when we look at those influencers and celebrities on social media and internet, it is easy for us to think: If only can we get that millions of followers like them, then we can also make a lot of money just like them and having the freedom in life. If only I can get that many followers, then I can also make good money from internet..
    (00:52):
But you know what's the truth? The truth is most influencers, are broke. That's the hard truth. I remember couple of years ago, probably two years ago, there was someone, there was an influencer from Instagram who has over a million followers. I can't remember remember the exact number, but she has millions of followers on Instagram. And I remember she was running a campaign to sell t-shirts. And guess how many she sold by the end of the campaign? She sold only eight! Only eight from millions of followers. Think about that. It was heart breaking moment for her. Can you imagine having that millions of followers and only get to have eight people who are willing to support, right?
    (01:55):
So what does this tell you? It tells you that having a big following of people doesn't matter if you can't even monetize from them. Just because someone is following you, it does not mean that they are willing to spend money with you. So the lesson here is, it is not about how many followers you have, but how many raving fans that you have, who are willing to pay you and spend money with you?
    (02:26):
I remember there was this article from Kevin Kelly called the thousand true fans. This article has gone viral because what Kevin said in this article is so true and powerful. He said, any business in any industry really only need a thousand true fans to have success in anything. And when he said true fans, he means people who are willing to buy anything that you put out in front of them, they will buy anything that you produce and create, doesn't matter the price just because it is you. Just because they are your raving fans. And they will become the person who spread the words for you and these are the people that who will contribute to your success. And you only need 1000 of these people to have to become successful in anything. I think that is so true when it comes to growing a following. Because think about this.
    (03:33):
If you can get a thousand people, your raving fans who are willing to spend at least $100 with you every single year, how much is that worth? If you do the math, that's equivalent to a hundred thousand dollar in revenue a year, and that is enough for you to live a good life. Do you think it is hard to get your raving fans to spend a hundred dollars with you every single year? No, it is not hard if you have been treating them right. If you have been focusing on building relationship with them and adding values and communicating with them. So I think for any one of us who is building and growing our following on social media, our primary goal is not to grow that millions of followers. Our goal is to identify who are the thousand true fans. Who are the people who are willing to spend money with us and buy anything that we present and produce.
    (04:44):
And those are the people we are looking for. Wouldn't you agree that having a 10 followers who are willing to spend money with you, who are willing to buy from you, is worth a hundred times more than a thousand followers who are just consuming your free contents, but just never willing to spend money with you, right? So when it comes to growing and building our following on social media, understand that the size doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how big of the following you have, if they are not people who are going to spend money with you anyway. Now I'm not telling you to start off the relationship, trying to make money off your followers. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is to become a person of values, coming from the angles of helping and serving your community, to identify your 1000 true fans. And money is the byproduct coming from that, coming from you, helping others in your journey.
    (05:44):
Because when you are constantly going out there helping and serving, some people naturally want to pay you money. They will want to buy from you and pay you for advice. They will become your true fans because they understand the value of what you have, and also what you know. So I think my message for you today is when it comes to growing and building your following, don't chase the numbers. Well, I know that it is good to have that as goal., it is good to have that 1 million followers as goal, but understand that it doesn't matter how big of your following is. The key is, are there people who are willing to buy from you or spend money with you? Are they your true fans? Knowing that the direction that you are going to go eventually is to hit that 1 million mark, but you want to always start small.
    (06:41):
Don't do it for the sake of doing it and always remember, you want quality over quantity. And hopefully this is also a reminder for myself because you know that sometimes it's just so demotivating when we saw that our following is growing slowly. But this is when you need to tell yourself that, it is not about the numbers. It is about helping and serving first and the right people, people who will become your paying customers will come to you, will get attracted to you, when you are coming from the angle of becoming a person who serve. That being said, that's all I have for you today. Hope you get some value today and wish you all the best.

  • Produce, Don't Consume: Producer vs Consumer
How I look at our two different roles on social media, and how you can use it to make your life better!
    ---TRANSCRIPT---
    (00:00):
Hi, everyone, you're listening to Internet Profits Blueprint podcast. I am Lik Foon. And today I want to talk about the difference being a consumer versus a producer of social media and how it can help you to become more productive throughout the day, and also to become a better marketer.
    (00:19):
So, today I want to talk specifically about two different roles on social media. And this is something I learned from Brendan Burchard. I first heard of this concept on podcast quite a while ago, but he's talking about being a producer versus a consumer. He said, I am not a consumer of social media. I'm a producer. I don't get sucked in eight hours a day on my phone because I'm not consuming social media. I don't consume it. I just produce it.
    (00:51):
So what's the difference between a consumer and a producer, right? So right now, every single day, if you are naturally take out your phone, scrolling through your Facebook feeds and clicking on the profile of your friends to look at their memes, the picture of what they eat and do, and spending hours a day watching funny prank videos, then you are a consumer of social media. You are consuming contents from social media, and I think there's nothing wrong with that. There will be times when you just want to rest and chill a little bit, checking out what's happening around your circle, but it shouldn't be all day every day. Most of the time, you have to be purposeful about why you are there. When I look at my mother, she's on social media all day every day, watching what her friends do, what they eat and watching funny things. Again, there's nothing wrong with this, but I saw how it only makes her tired and having difficulty to sleep and end up waking up with low energy. So if you are just being a consumer all day long, it drains up your energy every day, and that is not good for you.
    (02:06):
On the other hand, there are people who are being producers of social media. These are people who are producing something to the world, to the society and people around them. They are creating contents and putting out there with the goal to help and serve. They are motivating and inspiring others to take action and to make their lives better in some ways. And that's the difference of a consumer and producer every single day. When I log into my Facebook and Instagram, I am not there to consume a bunch of things. I'm there to do research with the goal to get ideas and inspirations for what I could create for my audience, for you guys on my podcast and Instagram. I am consuming with the goal to produce. I'm looking at what new products are being launched in my market, what ads are so creative that it grabs my attention, and what kind of posts are interesting and people are reacting to it. These are what I'm looking when I'm on social media. So my advice for you is every time when you're consuming things on social media, do it with the mindset of you need to produce something from it. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to create your own contents from it just like me, because I understand that not everyone wants to do that, but just think about how you can produce. It could be you are producing for yourself, right? How can you take what you consume and apply it to your own life or work to make your life better, more interesting and more fun? And now it is different. You are consuming to make the society better or your personal life better. I think this is a big mindset shift that will make our lives better and when we are no longer consuming without direction.
    (04:04):
I remember Facebook said it themselves. They said when they are creating Facebook, their goal is to get people addicted to it and keep coming back. So you have to have clarity and don't fall into their trap. You can still use it, but you aren't going to get sucked into the black hole. You want to know when's the time to stop and jump back to your life and work, to produce. That's the difference. Anyway, hope this helps to get you start thinking about it. And the more you become a producer over a consumer, the more productive you become and the better marketer you will become, and also the more your income will go up. All right. Thank you for listening today. And by the way, I also noticed that there is a slight increasing in my listeners and I really, really appreciate it. And thank you for listening. It motivates me to keep thinking about how to create better contents that can help you all in your journey. All right, with that said, that's all for today. And I will talk to you again next week.
