Hello listeners and welcome back to the V2V podcast and in todays episode I have Kris Pedretti on my show. Kris is a brave survivor and the 10th victim of Californian murderer and rapist Joseph DeAngelo, also known as the Golden State Killer.
Life changed in an instant for Kris Pedretti when, at the age of 15, the Golden State Killer crept into her family home and brutally raped her.
He was finally caught when police teamed up with a genetic genealogist who was able to use DNA data in public genealogy websites and eventually link it back to him.
With his capture, Kris felt that for the first time, she was on the road to healing. But what she found was that the real beginning of her journey of healing wasn’t his capture. It was the act of saying out loud, “This happened to me,” that was so very freeing and started her road to recovery.
