Hello!
Thanks to all for listening to Into the Pray!
Please take a moment to rate and leave a review for us...each one of you who does that for us makes a big difference!
Also, you might like to become one of our Patreon supporters? You can do that here.
This final episode in our focus on contraception is a very helpful look at Scripture to enable us all to continue to think carefully and biblically about the things that we say we believe. Thanks as ever to Dave Brennan of Brephos for joining us each week.
Next week don't miss our preview of what's to come in our Wednesday sessions over the next 3 months before we finish season 4. We will be talking about transgender ideology, predestination, intercession and activism as well as posing some difficult questions for all of us as we survey the general landscape of the Church.
You can watch the YouTube version of this week's conversation here.
In a couple of weeks from now we meet again with Ann Widdecombe regarding the life of Isaiah and next month we have Christopher Ash helping us with our season series on "All the Prophets". Author of umpteen books, including one of our faves, Bible Delight, Christopher is something of an authority on the Psalms.
Finally, please would you help us with 3 things:
1) Consider becoming a supporter of this podcast here to help us develop this media further;
2) Forward this episode to your networks and, if you haven't already,
3) Rate Into the Pray and leave a review on whatever platform you get your podcasts on.

Hello!
Thank you all for listening again to this podcast!
This morning I briefly pick up a point from the conversation with Gavin Ashenden on Friday regarding demonic visitations.
City of Temples will resume next Sunday.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you…” (James 4:7-8)
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
“…at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth…” (Philippians 2:10)
“As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!” But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Luke 11:27-28)
I trust that this brief podcast this morning will strongly clarify and bring a sense of comfort to anyone who may have been disturbed by what was shared in Gavin’s testimony about demonic visitations.

Hello!
Thank you for listening to this podcast! Perhaps you'd be able/willing to become one of our supporters here?
Today we have a pause in our "All the Prophets" focused season as we welcome Gavin Ashenden, former Chaplain to the Queen and now British Catholic layman who converted from evangelicalism in 2019.
Here is the article we discuss in today's episode.
We also discuss Justin Welby, apostasy, HTB seeker-sensitive progressive spirituality, demonic visitations, homosexuality, feminism, weak bladders etc etc etc.
What do you think?
“As He said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, ‘Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!’ But He said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Luke 11:27-28)
Many thanks indeed to Gavin for recording with us today. Look out for future episodes with him soon.

Hello!
Thank you all for listening to this episode today.
If you’d like to take communion please prepare some bread and wine to be ready at the end 🍞 🍷
WARNING: Some of you will find it harder to listen to this week's episode than others but please try and stick with it until the end. I am aiming for both honesty and integrity, fearing God and not man.
I generally try and keep things as succinct as possible but some matters are sufficiently important that they require more time so as not to gloss over the realities we're reading. This session is slightly longer than normal because I read an except from Body Zero at the end.
Our passage today (11:17-26) includes two verses (11:17, 20) that are sufficiently staggering to our church sensibilities and carnal minds (or they should be!) that they are scarcely believable.
"You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons." (10:21)
As I say, my honest view regarding where we collectively find ourselves may be very difficult to hear but please hear me out to the end when I tie things up as we approach the bread and the wine.
FOR YOUR DIARIES:
This coming Friday I will be speaking with Gavin Ashenden, former Chaplain to the Queen, about his 2019 conversion to Catholicism. In readiness for this you might want to listen to our Wednesday conversations with Dave Brennan (this week and last) entitled, Clarifying Catholicism.
Next month we have Christopher Ash helping us with our season series on "All the Prophets". Author of umpteen books, including one of our faves, Bible Delight, Christopher is something of an authority on the Psalms.

Hello!
Greetings and thanks again for listening to Into the Pray!
Today we're glad to be able to introduce you to Andy Harker, one of Nick's closest friends all the way back from university days!
After three years on a church pastoral team, Andy moved with his family to Kenya to spend almost 7 years working alongside iServe Africa, an indigenous ministry helping to raise up gospel workers through ministry apprenticeships.
Andy is now the Director of 9:38 and we're all the better for our friendship with him and regular times on the phone talking, reading and praying.
You can watch the very short 9:38 promo video that Andy refers to at the beginning here.
Today we turn to the middle of our Bibles and the wonderful book of Psalms.
With our forming view of "all the prophets" (Luke 24:27) slowly pulling into focus, we begin to consider the multifaceted type of Christ that is King David, the man who was raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel (2 Samuel 23:1).
Many thanks to Andy for helping us this week as we consider the many unique ways in which David was a foreshadowing forerunner of Jesus the Messiah.
Christopher Ash will be joining us next month to help us with our second part of this focus on the Psalms. Christopher has written umpteen books including one of our favourites, Bible Delight, as a brilliant study of Psalm 119. Please don't miss that!
Gavin Ashenden, former chaplain to the Queen, is joining us next Friday.
We're looking to develop both financial and prayer/relational support for this podcast and our wider work. If you would like to help, you can become a Patron here... we'd be very grateful.
If you would prefer to give directly, you can do that here.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to pray for us but aren't able to give.
If you would like to join our mailing list, you can do so here.
Please also take a minute or two to rate and review Into the Pray on whatever podcast platform you listen from - this is really important to help the podcast in general and also silence the bad apples who think we're bigots for teaching the Bible!
Many thanks to everyone.

Hello!
Thank you for tuning in again to Into the Pray.
There are more than 100 episodes of this podcast to listen to now including a wide range of guests spanning the period before lockdown to the current day, weekly episodes with Dave Brennan of Brephos (just like today's) as well as 33 teaching episodes in the book of 1 Corinthians.
If you are one of our regular listeners, perhaps you could check this out as we continue to develop things moving into 2022. Become one of our Patrons here!
What are evangelical leaders saying about what's happening in the Church today? Are they saying anything that's worth listening to? And what about this critical issue of the blurred lines between Evangelicals and Catholics?
This podcast is seeking to at least clear-up some of that blur.
We're grateful as always for our friend, Dave Brennan of Brephos, featuring on this podcast every Wednesday.
If you would prefer to give directly, you can do that here.
If you would like to join our mailing list, you can do so here.
Please also take a minute or two to rate and review Into the Pray on whatever podcast platform you listen on - this really is important!
Thanks to everyone.

Hello!
Thank you for joining us again on Into the Pray.
I'll be returning to Hamlet’s soliloquy next week.
Suffice to say for this 33rd episode in 1 Corinthians, we now broach one of the most important theological errors of our day:- "progressive" "christian" liberalism.
What of head coverings? Are egalitarians correct when they maintain that there is no longer male and female in Christ and that, therefore, "Why shouldn't women lead a church?!" (Galatians 3:28). What might be the result if they’re not?
Is it inconsistent to follow Paul's teaching in 1 Timothy 2 (that God has said that eldership is for men only) but not follow suit in 1 Corinthians 11? If women shouldn’t lead churches today why aren't women wearing head coverings today?
What are our modern church practices actually based on? Rock or sand?
Our rock-solid belief is that the reason we're seeing the shocking abhorrences in secular society today (including the abuse of our precious children) is as a result of this kind of male/female error ruining the Body of Christ. When we ignore God’s Word, we are rendered impotent, vulnerable and, ultimately, irrelevant to the world who so desperately need faithful Christian witness.
We have decapitated our Head, Christ. (See this image)
Next week we come to the Lord's Supper. Perhaps you would get some bread and wine to take communion. Yes, we come to remember Him, to thank and praise and worship Him but also to pray for mercy and forgiveness and to plead for His vision - and His headship - for the way forward.
Would you join us? Let us know what you're thinking.

Hello and welcome to Into the Pray!
Our Friday session this week continues with our season focus of "All the Prophets" and we're delighted to be joined by former Bishop of Rochester, Michael Nazir-Ali.
Michael served as the Anglican Bishop of Rochester between 1994-2009 whereupon he began working with the Oxford Centre of Research, Training, Advocacy and Dialogue (OXTRAD). His work with OXTRAD today is perhaps especially pertinent in our world at the moment with the unstable situation in Afghanistan resurfacing.
OXTRAD seeks to support the Church in situations wherever it is under pressure. You can find out more here.
If you would prefer to watch the Youtube version of this podcast, you can do so here.
Michael was born and raised in Pakistan in the 1950s during which time his Father (a Shia Muslim) converted from Islam to faith in Jesus Christ. It was during Michael's teenage years at University in Karachi that he received the gospel himself. This was, in part, thanks to an Anglican Chaplain who, entirely incognito, had registered as a 'mature student' in order to spread the gospel among the students - where there's a will there's a way!
Many thanks to Michael and his team for helping us with the episode this week.

Hello!
Thank you for joining us again on Into the Pray!
Our Wednesday session this week spans Midlothian to Cornwall as we resume our weekly conversations with Dave Brennan of Brephos.
As we pivot somewhat from our focus on contraception, we come to the critical issue of the Roman Catholic Church, the largest religious denomination on the planet with approximately 1.3 billion Catholics worldwide (as of 2019).
Is the decision of evangelical Christians like Gavin Ashenden, Ann Widdecombe and Francis Chan, to move towards Catholicism, wise? Is this an acceptable solution to the gross unfaithfulness rife within Protestantism?
We'll be going into this more next week but please do listen to our initial thoughts as this question emerges today.
If you would like to watch our latest YouTube video - The Terror of the LORD - you can do so here.
Please don't miss our superb conversation with Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali this coming Friday as our season focus on All the Prophets continues. This week's focus is on Elisha.
