Greetings All!
In today's mid-week episode of Into the Pray with Dave Brennan of Brephos, we continue our trailing conversation about IVF by spending time digging into Scripture.
Listen to Dave, Nick and Mairi read through a key passage in Genesis (critically, the book of origins) where the deception of the human heart is clear for all to see...or at least those who want to see.
Here’s the Chris Richards article cited.
Please do get in touch with your thoughts unless the basic courtesy/respect/tone that we've laboured to ensure in these podcasts isn't honoured/reciprocated. Thank you for the vast majority of folk who have done that with us.
We'll be picking this conversation back up on April 21st.
In the meantime, if you would like to help support this podcast and the wider work we're pioneering, we would be very grateful as we increasingly find ourselves at capacity in more ways than one. You can give here.
Finally, here is a medley of songs (all written before 1980) that we have been comforted by in recent days.
Come, Lord Jesus!

Greetings All!
This is the 20th part in our study of the book of 1 Corinthians entitled City of Temples.
Today we dive in to chapter 7 vv 17-24 in what is something of a digression from Paul's thorough dealing of the issue of marriage, singleness etc.
But what of this digression? What does Paul's repeated point in verses 17, 20 and 24 mean for our marriages/singleness today?
We pray this episode blesses you guys listening; please get in touch with any thoughts/questions.
You can follow along with our Instagram channel here where the 3 episodes every week and related conversation/stories.

*Apologies that the audio in this episode of Into the Pray is not as crisp as usual. We are in the process of decorating and we will be back to normal very soon*
This is our normal Friday session with guests, friends and book reviews.
See a related Instagram post on this issue of healing here.
Today, still in this third season Life Together, Nick meets with dear friend Seamus Bannon to discuss the sensitive issue of chronic pain and healing.
We are at a time in history where the Church is being shaken, arguably more than it ever has been. Faithfulness to Scripture and the Spirit of God is like a rare commodity or jewel.
As such, it is becoming increasingly clear to the witness of the Church on the earth that doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1) are running rampant throughout the undulating terrain of the Body of Christ.
"Word of faith" cults posture everywhere as legitimate Christian communities and yet, as you're about to hear, many, many people are waking up to the deeply dark and demonic deceptions that often manifest in dodgy doctrines concerning healing.
Before you think for a second that we are cessationists, we are certainly not! (Cessationism is also a doctrine of demons).
We believe very much in the charisms - the gifts - of the Holy Spirit; we are eagerly desiring the gift of prophecy from the Spirit of God Who is our Precious Paraclete.
However, there are false doctrines that strut around as though they were truly "words of faith" when actually they are profoundly fraudulent forms of Christian orthodoxy.
Listen to Seamus' testimony having formerly been part of a "word of faith" mentality and listen to the wisdom - and freedom - that he is now able to testify from.
Whether you are seriously ill yourself, perhaps struggling with something more minor or whether you know people who are literally dying, this testimony from Seamus is deeply encouraging and honouring of the incomparable Name of Jesus.

This week on our mid-week session with Dave Brennan of Brephos, we begin a new mini-series discussing IVF and asking honestly whether this is ever OK for disciples of the coming Christ?
Listen to Nick and Mairi explain their journey and the point at which they came face to face with the realities of IVF and the strong witness of the Holy Spirit that this was not the way forward.
We will be taking several weeks to explore this neglected area, to dig into the Bible, to listen to Mairi's testimony as a woman of God who longs to be a Mummy but who recognises something very profound about the heart of God on this (and related) issue.
Thank you again, Mairi, for being willing to share your heart in public especially when what you will share in forthcoming weeks will likely be rejected by many.
Jesus sees you; Jesus sees us; Jesus sees all.

In this week's teaching episode of Into the Pray, we come to vv10-16 of chapter 7 of 1 Corinthians.
We must think carefully about the disruptive impact of the gospel in marriages in Corinth but also marriages today.
Who is this new Man, Jesus, Yeshua, Who is now calling the shots? What does the Lordship of Jesus really mean for our spousal relationships?
What was Paul's counsel then and now?
And what of the main "push-back" against our teaching last week that remarriage (apart form death) is adultery?

This week's episode of Into the Pray hosts our next instalment with Dave Brennan in our ongoing conversation about abortion. (They are, of course, normally every Wednesday)
We are having these conversations with Dave every single week because there is a great need for us to be thinking a lot more about these realities tolerated and normalised throughout the world.
But Jesus is coming.
Earlier this week via Christian Concern, Dave debated with Professor John Wyatt, Emeritus Professor of Neonatal Paediatrics at University College London and President of the Christian Medical Fellowship, regarding the ethical question of "whether or not disciples of Jesus Christ should be taking the COVID-19 vaccine?"
This episode of Into the Pray is reflecting on how that debate unfolded. If you would like to, you can watch the debate here first.
Before listening to this episode, please also consider Galatians 6:7-10:
"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith."

In this week's teaching episode of City of Temples, we come to an important juncture and one that is sufficiently important for us to pause before methodically going through the next section verse by verse. (7:10-17)
Today, Nick and Mairi take time to discuss the general landscape of the Church as regards to marriage, divorce, remarriage and adultery.
Should Christians get divorced? And, perhaps more to the point, should Christians ever remarry?
How low is the bar? And what will it look like for the bar to be lifted unto our corporate preparation for the return of Christ?
Repentance! But regarding what?

In our weekly episode of Into the Pray with Dave Brennan of CBRUK, we continue to discuss the horrors of abortion and the complicity of the British evangelical Church towards the wholesale promotion of COVID-19 vaccines.
As you are going to hear, a recent video has been released of evangelical leaders, up and down the UK, bent on pedalling/spiritualising the very same "vaccine narrative" as the UK Government, NHS and 10 Downing Street.
The video is disturbing to watch, difficult to process and shockingly bad on a number of levels, not least the total absence that it showcases of any prophetic sensitivity in the Church to the gravity of the hour. You can view the video here.
We believe that a direct and pointed tone - a foghorn - is required to cut through this stunted prophetic haze of the comatose Church.
As such, please listen and share this episode as Nick & Mairi Franks and Dave Brennan of CBRUK continue to discuss the prophetic foundation of any activism or gospel-work towards seeing the abolition of abortion.
In 1930s Nazi Germany, many evangelical churches tolerated Nazi flags flying outside their buildings, such was the complicity between the evangelical Church and the diabolical Nazi state.
As the Body of Christ today, it is time to think very differently regarding what's unfolding before our eyes.

Having laid the biblical and theological foundation for marriage last week, this 17th episode of our City of Temples series now turns to Paul's teaching on marriage and singleness in more detail.
We will spend at least two more weeks in this chapter because there is so much to get out of it!
This week:
- What did the Corinthians think of marriage and sex?
- Why was Paul's teaching revolutionary not only for the wider Jewish/Roman culture but for the immature church?
- What of sexual intimacy and prayer?
- What primary strategy does Satan use to destroy marriages?
- How would it be good to examine our marriages?
- Whether married or single, what verse is the critical verse in understanding how Jesus wants us to be living at the end of the age.

In this week's episode of Into the Pray with Dave Brennan of CBRUK, we discuss the foundation and epicentre of what it means to be actively opposed to abortion: the gift of the Holy Spirit of prophecy.
We are all commanded to eagerly desire this gift of the Holy Spirit and our ongoing question on this podcast is: "If, as the Body of Christ, we are commanded by God to not only desire this gift but to desire it eagerly, what is the net result for us all if we disobey?"
What happens when the gift of prophecy is either neglected or abused or both?
In this context, we believe that part of the multifaceted answer to this question is that the Church will say (relatively) nothing about the horror of abortion and that, for instance, 'popular' church leaders will clamour to support the UK Government's agenda for us all to have the COVID-19 vaccine that is derived from aborted foetus cell lines (HEK293).
The answer for the Church to this urgent dilemma - as with the general landscape as a whole - is to be willing to repent and face the corporate chaos we're in and, then, to ask the Holy Spirit to give us His heart and His mind so as to live on this earth as we are meant to (prophecy).
Have you asked the Holy Spirit for the gift of prophecy? Did you know that you are commanded to? (See 1 Corinthians 14:1)
