Into the Pray episodes

  • Understanding Critical Race Theory (feat. Brian Gray)

    Greetings All,

[Quick notice: We have a new film in the pipeline, a piece of content that we have no doubt is extremely important for the Body of Christ at large. We're needing some help with the practicalities/financial costs associated, so if you would like to help with this, to make it happen, and get more info ahead of release, please feel free to drop us a line. We very much value your interest/support.]

This is our penultimate episode of season 3 and a follow-up conversation around Critical Race Theory after Nick's conversation with David Robertson in episode 35. (Don't miss our final session in 1 Corinthians 9 on Sunday).

Thanks again to our friend, Brian Gray, all the way from Honduras where he and his wife, Cathy, serve as missionaries.

We're really grateful for Brian bringing extra meat to our forming understanding about critical race theory (CRT), its origin, its intention and its insidious author.

Please find more information on Brian here and also an article he's written here that you may want to read before or after listening to this podcast.

We hope this episode helps you to think and pray more clearly about these issues that we simply can not afford to ignore.

Please also see here for essential reading.

This morning's teaching episode of Into the Pray moves deeper into Paul's jolting thinking in 1 Corinthians chapter 9 and continues to provoke us to reconsider how it is that we conduct ourselves as disciples - do we have the same selfless attitude of Paul or are we perhaps dogged more by the type of thinking akin to the dysfunctional Corinthians?

    Three questions for us:

    - What does Paul's defence of his apostleship teach us today?
    - How/when are we like the Corinthians who obsessed over claiming their rights?
    - What about British society and the Church in this regard?

Please tune-in next Sunday for the conclusion of this chapter with this summary in mind:

Paul’s defence of his apostleship is to lay the reasonableness of his rights as an apostle as the top soil BUT his inner freedom to forgo such rights as the bedrock on which this soil sits.

This is what made Paul such an exemplary lover and follower of Christ.

"What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as theLord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building." (1 Corinthians 3: 5-9)

This mid-week session with Dave Brennan from Brephos and Nick and Mairi Franks focuses on an Instagram post that Mairi posted on her channel just a couple of days ago.

You can see Mairi's Instagram post here.

You will notice that the post has drawn a lot of engagement including many revealing responses to our stance on IVF...indications as to the narcissistic state of the Church at large.

Within this session we talk about:

    - The overall goal of all that we do
    - The importance of disagreeing well
    - What happens when respect/courtesy/honour isn't reciprocal?
    - When is it OK to rumble?
    - What are these narcissistic attitudes on Instagram revealing about the general health of our corporate discipleship across the West?

You can join in with a premiering YouTube version of this conversation here from 7:30pm this evening and a LIVE conversation between the three of us before that at 4:30pm here.

This morning in our teaching series, City of Temples, we move into chapter 9 and continue to get into the head and heart of Paul as we walk the streets of Corinth with him, passing groups of anxious souls stood outside meat markets as well as proud, strutting individuals who, on every street corner, rejected Paul's very obvious fruitfulness in Yeshua.

We are commanded to imitate Paul's example in Jesus that culminates with the necessity to not only preach the gospel but to worship the Lamb of God, the perfect temple Sacrifice.

  • Black Lives Matter & Premier Christianity (feat. David Robertson)

    Greetings Everyone!

For our normal Friday episode of Into the Pray this week, we're grateful to have spoken again to our friend, David Robertson, (aka. The Wee Flea).

Today we talk about the disgraceful conduct of Premier Christianity in March of this year when an article David had been asked to write by their editor, Sam Hailes, was ignominiously removed and "repented" for by the wokerati of the mainstream christian magazine.

Supported by the wider UK evangelical "church", this indiscriminate penchant for Black Lives Matter - irrespective of their demonic roots in pro-choice,  anti-Christ propaganda - is surely a profound symptom of very serious spiritual sickness.

This treatment of David as a faithful writer for Premier Christianity over years is further evidence of the gross lack of prophetic unction within the mainstream evangelical "church" and a sure pointer of the godless trajectory that many evangelical churches are on.

You can read David's article about this incident here.

You can read my response to the limp-wristedness of Premier Christianity and my own disagreement with the same editor, here and here.

This is our second mid-week session with Dave Brennan of Brephos this week.

Did you see the conclusion to the new BBC 1 drama, Three Families, last night? Both episodes are on the BBC iPlayer if you missed them and we have recorded a podcast episode for each.

This episode of Into the Pray is the conclusion to our response (Satan's Lullaby - part 2).

At the end of this episode, we create space/time for an extended time of prayer.

What of the abortion laws of Northern Ireland and the tumultuous changes of 2019? What is the BBC's agenda here? Who is the real enemy? What should our response be?

"O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

This is our mid-week session with Dave Brennan of Brephos in which, every single week, we prayerfully discuss the sensitive but abhorrent issue of abortion. Make no mistake, under the Lord Jesus, this is our priority for the long haul.

Did you see the new BBC 1 drama, Three Families, that started last night? The conclusion is airing tonight at 9pm and you can see both episodes on the BBC iPlayer.

This episode of Into the Pray is our initial response (Satan's Lullaby) to the programme having seen the first episode last night. We will record again tomorrow and give a more comprehensive overview having watched the conclusion.

Therefore there will be two podcasts with Dave this week.

At the end of tomorrow's podcast, we will also be hosting an extended time of prayer following the conclusion of the programme tomorrow evening.

"But Joseph said to them, 'Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? As for you, you meant evil against me, but iGodmeant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.  So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.' Thus he comforted them and spoke kindly to them." (Genesis 50:19-21)

This is the next instalment in our study through the book of 1 Corinthians and moving through vv4-13 of chapter 8.

What was the big deal about food offered to idols? What was really happening behind the scenes in Corinth with regard to food, idols, demons and consciences? What of the glorious Father for whom we exist?

Here’s the link to the Piper sermon dealing with the importance of our corporate “amen”.

We return this week to our ongoing conversations with Dave Brennan of Brephos and the sensitive issue of IVF. As we have asked in our previous two episodes, (no. 17 & 20 in this season), is IVF ever OK?

You can also watch this conversation via YouTube here as a Premiere at 9pm GMT this evening. (Thank you for your patience while we're in the process of improving our videos).

This week, having introduced the subject of IVF and having spent some time in Scripture last time, we consolidate our "position" on this difficult issue.

We will also be responding to the
BBC's new two-part drama revolving around the changing fertility landscape in Northern Ireland, Three Families, that starts a week today.

Listen to Dave Brennan and Nick and Mairi Franks discuss the general lay of the land of the Church in which this infinitely important question of IVF is being - or indeed not being - considered from a genuine biblical perspective:

    - How are our Christian lives distinct from others who also would naturally want children?
    - How do IVF and the abortion genocide relate to each other?

Here’s the Chris Richards article cited and this week's impromptu episode recorded with Richard Lucas, leader of the Scottish Family Party, in which we discuss related issues concerning children and young people and our responsibilities as mature disciples of Christ to use our voices to defend them.

Please do get in touch with your thoughts unless the basic courtesy/respect/tone that we've laboured to ensure in these podcasts isn't honoured/reciprocated. Thank you for the vast majority of folk who have done that with us.
