As a special treat, we're honored to introduce and share our space with kindred spirits from the podcast VANISHING POSTCARDS. It's an award-winning show created and hosted by actor, singer, and travel guide Evan Stern, who left NYC to return to his native Texas during the pandemic in order to—as he says—"shine a light on a few of the spaces and traditions I know that have endured, learn about the scrappy folks behind their survival, and explore the cultures they represent." (Evan was also a guest of Sound of Our Town in last week's mini-episode!) Each episode of VANISHING POSTCARDS is part travelogue and part oral history, allowing the spirits and stories of a place to come to life through the voices of those who know it best. This episode explores Tulsa, a town we visited in Season 1, allowing you to hear the history of Black Wall Street and the Tulsa Race Massacre. To learn more about the episode and the podcast, check the show notes at vanishingpostcards.com, and subscribe on the iheart radio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
Sound of Our Town is a production of Double Elvis and iHeartRadio.
