Never quit and be willing to pivot. Basically, don't marry your vision for it be open and allow your business to grow the way it needs to.

Don't be afraid to fail and fail often. People try to be perfectionists, they don't want to fail and lose all their confidence after failing. Failure isn't permanent, learn from your mistakes and try not to make the same mistakes.

Look for opportunities for the most growth. The path of most growth and when you're looking at a company, the number one thing you should be thinking about is, are they my people? Most of the time Steve would think he'd learn something at a company and apply it to his company later, this is a huge step jump, but every time he felt like these are not his people. when he unraveled for a while and started to feel like his culture, everything felt right for him.

Think Big, that's definitely one of the things. If you're in a startup model, it's very easy to bog up in the details and lose sight of the big picture. That's what most startups really fail or actually make the mistake of just getting wrapped up in the details. There are people who are good at the details but as a startup entrepreneur, if you're actually building out the business you must focus on the big picture.

The thing is just GO. Many entrepreneurs will just be worried about not having a concrete business plan or not necessarily starting anything before they get an IP or a fully functional up and running website. All this stuff is really important, but you could just really get going.

Good advice applied at the wrong time is bad advice. In the early stages of Wayne's journey in business, he used to look at the big gurus and magazines and see what they were doing and how are they successful and he would tempt to take what they were doing and apply that to his little small startups.

Success comes sooner as sooner you get out there. Put yourself in visibility. Now is the best time, it'd never gonna get easier. So, just put yourself out there, find the confidence to do it, be willing to learn, be a little messy and figure out as you go.

Do Diligence, whether you're starting or buying a business. Harris's background was to do CPA and what he does now is helping people get funding as a startup business specifically using their 401k and RIA which is stuff people don't know about. Most people don't know they have the opportunity to perhaps use their RIA or 401k. So, do diligence both in if you're buying a business or starting a business. Make sure you ask a lot of questions of the seller and that you're comfortable with the answers.

The things are gonna take time, as long as you stick with the business, there's gonna be ups and downs of the business, especially as a startup. If you're a solution-based company, say you got 20 customers, every customer wants something different, so you have to prioritize the customers, in end you got to stick to your business.

Listen and Absorb as much as you can about the industry, especially if it's a new industry. Go try and talk to the folks who have been there before. Especially if you enter a new venture and maybe you haven't done this before, be a sponge absorbing as much as you can, talk to people, read, and listen (to podcasts, and webinars) to all these great sources of information there really for the absorbing.
